A unique cutting edge? I'm pretty sure all blades or axes that cut are sharp that's not very unique
Whilst field walking recently, we discovered a stoneage tool (seriously).

It has a unique cutting edge.

I bet they are kicking themselves for not patenting that innovative idea!

This is a quality tool, it doesn't have to be sharp (it is) for splitting, the head is sharply tapered to split easily.

The shaft is feather light and ergonomically excellent.

Ive got the x5 (lovely little thing) and the x11, think I want (not need!) this addition too!

No, no, no, no, no. Were you asleep at psycho-school? That is a fire-axe, and this is a splitting axe. Completely different tools!

So you're the chump who buys all the felling axes that they sell in the big sheds to split logs with? even though they are almost completely useless for the job. I always wondered why they stock so many, when nobody sensible uses an axe to fell a tree these days.

Great axes but price not extraordinary same on Amazon
The proper axe for splitting logs is called a Merlin and its profile is different to this. This looks like it will get stuck in the log instead of being "fat" enough to burst the split log apart. The French make the best as they use so much wood for heating and cooking. Still got my merlin from when we lived there.

Says estimated delivery from 8/8/18 to 27/8/18 for me, 3 in stock. Either way this is just a pretty regular Amazon price, has been as low as £42.74 on Amazon for a significant time last winter
