PurePulse

You can exercise efficiently every workout thanks to the PurePulse heart rate monitor. It displays your real-time heart rate so you can push yourself harder or back off depending on how your body is reacting.

Simplified heart rate zones can help you maximise every session, for example when on a treadmill, you can see where you move from fat burning to cardio through to peak intensity.

The Cardio Fitness Score collects all of the information taken by band to give you a better understanding of your fitness levels, how you're improving, and what steps you need to take next to develop.

Multi-sport tracking

Monitoring much more than just your steps, the Charge 2 tracks specific exercises such as running, weights, or yoga to give you more accurate and relevant stats.

Certain exercises like hiking and cycling are automatically selected with SmartTrack, so you still get credit even if you forget to log a workout.

Connected GPS

The Charge 2 is great for runners as it uses your smartphone's GPS to show you stats in real time including pace, distance, and a map of your route when you get home.

Smartphone alerts

Never miss another call, text, or appointment with smartphone alerts delivered straight to your wrist.

You can customise the OLED touch display with interchangeable clock faces to suit your style.

Guided breathing sessions

Staying calm and relaxing after a workout is as important as keeping moving. Guided breathing sessions help you find moments of calm throughout the day to keep you well rested and happy.

Personalised to your heart rate, these guided breathing sessions are ideal after a tough workout, before a yoga session, or morning meditation.

Why not? It tracks steps and heart rate 24/7. Which is useful to some

If you actually exercise, counting steps is no use.

If you don't exercise, counting steps is just trying to pretend you exercise.

Unless you have a heart problem, why do you need to monitor your heart rate all day.
Go for the xiaomi band 3. Much much better deal and 20days battery 🔋 life for £ 27. 2yrs warranty. Uk xiaomi store london sorry cold. Oh and that is waterproof. So go for swim!

I think people often miss the point with these, I don’t think it matters if it’s 100% accurate or not, it’s really a motivational device.
If you can see the weight coming off and your heart rate getting lower and your overall fitness improving I think that encourages you to keep going and do more.
I've personally seen my heart rate reduce from the mid forties down to thirty nine, thing that makes me think it is reasonably accurate as well is if I’ve been out and had a couple of drinks almost always my average heart rate will be a couple of beats higher for a day or two, interesting...
Agree the prices were ridiculous, I managed to buy a new Ionic on eBay for £70 which seems about right.

Just use your phone then? Really don't get it.

Clearly this product isn't for you. I suggest you find one that makes sense.

That’s 1 Christmas present bought; heat!
Just put fitbit into search engine and seen this minutes after being posted. Thanks 😃 that's another thing ticked off the list
How much are the bands?
Good price on this
The special edition lavender and rose gold version is £89.99 which seems a good price too.
Bargain price. I love my Fitbit, although I thought they were water resistant not splash proof, I get in the shower/bath with mine on... think I’ll take it off in future. Whoops!

Depends where you get them, and whether you want official Fitbit band. I bought a nice silver band with magnetic fastener (not fit bit branded) on Amazon for about a fiver x
Excellent price. Heat
Does it accurately track calories?
I don't see the point in these devices which don't have built in GPS.

One of the things that’s appealing to Fitbit is you can create groups & do challenges with other people/friends who have a Fitbits too & you can see what their step count is. Gets very competitive

Does it track heart rate all the time? This does so probably why battery life is less.

A lot of people exercise at the gym so GPS is not useful. If you need one for cycling or running (and have need for tracking) then you buy something else

Neither is step count then if you are in a gym, the machines will tell you how far you've gone.

Heart rate could be useful but if that's what you want, wrist base heart rate monitors are pretty useless so just buy a chest strap and pair it with your phone or the machine.

You can Google how to connect charge 2 to your phone's GPS.

For those who don't know how to connect charge 2 to GPS....
Go to account, tap on charge 2, tap excersise shortcuts, tap run. Simple
Also it's good to monitor heart rate, as it helps to aim to lower resting heart rate

Ok, from looking at the comments, if I want to track my outside runs (distance, time, preferably route) then I would have to use this with my phone, it's not an alternative to, say, Strava on my phone? My phone is a bit bulky and Strava is always playing up so would prefer a watch type device but don't want to pay a lot!
