Ok, hear me out.

So O2 is doing these for £79.99

John Lewis is doing these for £99.99 with a £20 cash redemption.

I contacted John Lewis to price match with O2 and they did. I bought the fitbit from John Lewis for £99.99. Once the fitbit arrived, I emailed them that I would like to keep the fitbit and they refunded the difference within 24 hours, hence it cost me £79.99 now.

As the original order was placed with John Lewis with their cash redemption, I applied for the redemption and got my 20 quid back, hence overall paid £59.99 for it and have a 2 year warranty. Woohoo

But it allows GPS when connected to mobile device which is surely what it's made for and at £59.99 cant really grumble
Woohoo indeed, thinking outside the box...whatever that means...I like it !
Maybe silly question. Why not just apply the 20£ off promo to the £79.99 O2 website price? Or is O2 not an approved seller? JL support is world class, and I’d spend my money with them anyday, maybe that’s what this would be for, but the support and customer service from Fitbit is also excellent, so it might be 2 good ways to get an excellent price, you’ve found.

Isn't a watch though it's an activity tracker for fitness

Want a quick glance at how many steps you've done? Or maybe check your heart rate? Can you do that with your phone in your pocket? At the end of the day £59.99 is a good price and many people use them

Which the Honor band 5 does for £27.99 at Argos, plus SP02.
Personally I got the £23.99 ebay and £19.99 deal.

Fitbit notoriously has a much higher RHR algorithm for an unknown reason than everyone else.

How long did it take Fitbit to redeem your £20 back?
Does it have to be in stock on the O2 site for the price match?
Dam that's a good price ! Was about to order one off Amazon with £20 cashback plus I had a £5 voucher, hmm.

I got an email response frokm fitbit on the same day saying ' I am happy to confirm that your claim for the Fitbit Charge 3 Cashback Promotion 2020 has now been approved and you will receive your payment within the next 28 days.', but still awaiting the payment. No reason why it shouldn't clear

Double check with John Lewis on price match info, I believe if you can get a better price after you've purchased, you can still claim on the "Never Knowingly Undersold" within 28 days...worth a try! Call their Customer Services team on 03456 049 049...Good luck

This device is designed for more than outside activites. Its very light weight, a lot lighter than a smart watch or other devices that have GPS. Its more like a sports band on the larger side.

This is a great deal as I paid £120ish on initial release. Have now moved to a Smart Watch because my eysight says I need something bigger.

I also want to look at my stats on the phone without having an internet connection. But what makes it worse is that the fitbit app does not cache most information. So if you want to look at yesterdays stats it has to go to the server & get the info every time that takes a second or so, instead of being almost instant. Its very annoying.
DanQ77706/03/2020 16:26

Ever tried attaching your phone to your wrist and tracking your sleep? its not fun or clever.

Or try keeping your phone in your hand all day incase you want to check the time, waiting for an e-mail or checking heart rate. Thats why we have smart watches & fit bands

Yes
I did the same thing at Curry's and also got 6 months Spotify included instead of the 2 year warrentee. Had an email confirming my cashback has been confirmed so £59.99 all in.

Did you managed to get the black model? I tried with Curry's also but O2 didn't have that one in stock so wouldn't match. They were willing to match the rose gold one though.

I had that issue with John Lewis but I could reserve black 1 for click and collect at local 02 store so they matched online but only for click and collect not home delivery but could have sent to local coop 2 mins away so didn't have to go to town
Last day to order to qualify for the £20 back and only rose gold available due to o2 stock...anything that would stop me returning it to a store and exchanging it for the black model?
Anyone got their £20 back from Fitbit yet?
