Five tens are great for grip but these ones ( I have them ) can get heavy when wet, the newer VXi's in my opinion are better: chainreactioncycles.com/fiv…579 and are a similar price.

Have to disagree with you, I too have both and yes when soaked through they do tend to hold it. However that aside from the rare times they do get sodden, they are so much more comfortable than the vxi’s due to the extra padding and fit. I find I can ache from the vxi’s after longer rides too on the sole of my feet, never a problem with these.

That said it is nice to have the choice of a lighter shoe, I think they compliment each other

agree with the original comment. freeriders are my personal fave as not as bulky, but these are a good deal. if your feet ache, try a bigger platform on the pedal.

Use v12’s, there’s a definite difference between the two shoes, durability on the vxi sole is worse too
Red hot. These are awesome if you ride flats. These will hold water though but as a summer MTB shoe, perfect. Great price.
Good deal. I also prefer the vxi or freerider elements. Even in our British summer it's rare to get a dry trail!!!!!!

Five ten impact vxi discontinued last year. You will find them in limited sizes if your lucky. Good news ,they have been replaced with the lmpact pro. scotbycycles.co.uk/121…BwE
A good deal but they look so bulky and heavy for me, I prefer my spd but recently got some v12s and a pair of Adidas Terrex trailcross hitops
they are awesome the grip feels like I’m clipped in ..
same stealth rubber sole as 510s as Adidas bought out 510 for the technology/ material
What are these like for fit, about right or on the small side?

Need some for my V12’s but unsure on the fit.

correct fit for size but do need breaking in. Order too big of a size and your heel will slip out.
nice thanks. Always wanted to try these but didn't like rrp.
Personally go for the adidas terrex trailcross... It's all about that stealth sole

Heat for the price of a pair of five 10s though!
I might have just been unlucky but the soles starting peeling off my vxi (using DMR Vaults) Minimal use 10-15hrs maybe. Putting me off buying again.
Think u were unlucky, had mine 2 years, occasionally hose them down with the bike and they are like new...ish
Just had a pair of these replaced after just 2 months when the heel padding 'collapsed', meaning the shoe would just fall off your heel when riding or walking. I also find them clunky (ride flats) - miss the Exum Guide's I rode for years before they were discontinued

Took ages to get my replacements too, as the dealer said 5 Ten were 'swamped' with warranty requests. Not sure that's encouraging, but at least they replaced them and it's a great price OP

Nope it’s a common issue
these things are proper chunky. I like them, really solid. Maybe a bit too much for summer but right now they are perfect.
