what fish is it
Gotta be pollock....... if it was cod or haddock it would be on the front of the box.
looks like it could use some Head & Shoulders

It could be anything that was scraped of the processing factory's floor that month.

Not if it's a fillet. I'm all for diversifying our use of fish. We've been hounding the poor Cod and Haddock for far too long. This could be the type of catfish that often scores highly in blind taste tests over the usual fish.
Good for fish pie and homemade fish burgers.
It clearly says pollock on the back, smaller fillets, but really nice and slit in 2 make fab homemade fish fingers.

Too right.

I was rather amazed after I tried River Cobbler the other day. It's a Vietnamese river catfish that's cheap and damn tasty. I’ll give Cod and Haddock a break now!

Your brave! Pangasius AKA river Cobbler, Basa , Panga has had many health warnings from around the world due to the way it is farmed and all the chemicals the fish eats.
Do a google search and you'll be shocked at what you find.

That goes for any food from a dodgy source.

That was exactly what I was implying,
Pangasius comes from a 'dodgy source' Vietnam & Thailand where the fish farmers don't have the same rules and regulations as some people expect.

I'm sure there are some dodgy fish farmers in any country, just like the dodgy meat trade in the UK and Europe.

I very much doubt fish from Vietnam has escaped being tested by the Food Standards Agency,
