That's for package holidays & as above, it seems that further funding has been secured

As long as they have a licence at the time of booking you are protected if they go tits up

Are they only protecting package holidays though? Would you also be protected if you just book flights or if you only book a hotel?

Should be ok if you also use a credit card so you can invoke charge back if you have to.

book on a credit card then you are covered good deal to me

As long as you book it in the U.K. for flights departing from the U.K., if you book the return leg also at the same time that will be covered, as others have said use a CC for added protection, but you will be atol protected

yep credit card will protect you .

Personally wouldn't be booking with them at the moment but if you do make sure you use a credit card and book accommodation that can be cancelled without charge.

Yes but it will take you 6 months+ to get your money back!!

This reminds me of when my life savings were getting 7% interest in an Icelandic bank. Overall a hot deal, but rather worrying when it all went t.its up at the end.

6+ months? i take it you never used chargeback before? it takes a few weeks probably, especially when you can prove the reason which in this case would be very obvious to them

You can also use chargeback on a Visa debit card.

I think visa debit it has to be over £100......(it used to be )......mastercard dont have that rule.

You don't sound too sure ?!

trying to get people's money before they go bust...typical greedy owners

how's it a good deal if what you book doesn't happen and you have made plans around it happening...credit card or not, why put yourself through the hassle..book thru easyjet on ur credit card and be doubly sure

just psy with paypal people! you'll get your money back if they do go bust

That's a shame, no Scottish departures, LBA looks good though for December.

You could argue that if people don't buy flights and holidays through them, then they'll have no money coming in and will therefore go bust. So by not spending, you're possibly causing the very thing you were worried about.

no im not TOO sure coz its all depending on circumstances of each claim and how the claimant can prove their claim. but 6 months+ is over exaggerated

Just had a check to see if we could have done better for our Easter holiday next year and it's a lot more expensive.

We booked 2 adults and 2 children with 2 bags with decent time flights for £142 each return with Ryanair (via Travel Republic).

This is working out at over £200 each without any bags!

Glad we booked the Ryanair flights now (was tempted to wait for Easyjet flights to be released, but doubt it would have been much cheaper and no worry about getting them as soon as they come out now).

Oh dear...booked my Easter flights with Monarch but not with CC - paid with PayPal
I know this does give some protection? Anyone know?
Hopefully this won't happen but in case!

paypal will be fine.booked a holiday with lowcost when they went bust and they paid me back

Just checked the rules - apparently, Mastercard it is minimum £10, Visa and Maestro no minimum. For chargeback - bank liable under internal rules.
However credit cards you must spend over £100 for the goods/service and as long as 1p is on the card they are liable for the lot strangely. Thats under section 75 i.e card company liable.

So if you are booking over £100 worth, use your credit card not your debit as it should be easier to claim.
