Is it a perfect gopro replacement? No, but is it anywhere near the price of their gear??
please provide a link? didnt realise the same item/spec device is floating around on amazon for £30.
Other colours are a few pounds more..16mp wifi action cam
Would you happen to know if it can be used as a WiFi IP camera? Also, can it be powered permanently via the mains?
I don't want to buy 2 separate cameras, as far as possible.
Edit: After reading a review that says the WiFi range is only ~5m, perhaps I should give it a miss
You might want to shoot 1080p @ 60fps instead though, you're better off buying these higher spec ones for that reason.
60fps video does look great. For action I'd take 1080p @ 60fps over 4k @ 24fps.
Why would I want to buy a 4K camera to shoot 1080 at 60fps when I've already said happy with what my current version runs at?
SJ4000 doesn't do 1080p @ 60fps. Only 720p @ 60fps.
Even then it's double frame, not true 60fps, it records each frame twice
Keep guessing and by all means, keep posting useful comments like the one above.
It shoots 60fps at 720p, which I'm perfectly happy with as I needed to shoot a long time on one without editing/deleting. I'm perfectly happy with the 720p footage. As yet I've not needed 1080 at 60 and certainly dont need to buy a new camera for that.
Where did you buy it from please & for how much? I can see them being sold (like new) on eBay for ~£10 delivered by FarEast sellers - a relevant search: ebay.co.uk/sch…724
Edit: And amazingly for just ~£11 from UK-based sellers: ebay.co.uk/sch…500
I bought it 2 years ago from Banggood. If you buy from ebay you've probably an 80% chance of getting one of the many SJ4000 copies! Yup, this "copy" of the gopro did so well that loads of companies knocked out identical copies, with varying degrees of success. A quick google will help you differentiate, or attempt to!
Yes, I've heard about the fakes. Genuine SJCams apparently have QR & alpha-numeric codes that one can verify via their website, like in this eBay auction (last pic): ebay.co.uk/itm…115

Found this review on youtube, turnout Firefly 6s is just 44 quid on Gearbest now. Maybe better option than Sjcam
Nice spot, wish it wasn't Gearbest though. Purchased once from them with a bad experience.
