I thought this was a tempting offer from Three: flash sale on a few phones till Monday 19th.

Samsung galaxy S8 64GB on their 24month 12GB unlimited minutes and texts, feel at home and go binge (advanced plan)

£79 upfront and then £35 a month, down from £48. Potential saving of £336 on yesterdays price. You can also claim a free gift of concert tickets!

Also on sale are the iPhone 7, 8 and SE, and the Samsung galaxy J3.

Of course with the s9 due for release very soon there could be more reductions to give but this seems not to terrible for the moment.

Would be way cheaper to buy the phone separate and get the 12gb SIM only
Always best to buy the phone separate if you have the money
I got the S8 not long after launch with 24GB data with Gear VR for £32pm with no deposit. This doesn't seem like a very good deal to me, not even close.

Genuinely, where would you buy it from? It works out at £559 for the phone spread over the two years once subtracting the SIM only price. The phone is currently £589 at CPW, £689 at John Lewis, and £569 from Amazon UK direct.

If I was to buy it, I would genuinely look at eBay. Theres brand new ones around 400 quid. I would then pick up a sim only, currently I pay £12 for 12gb unltd texts mins on 3 but using current tariif figures would be £14 (exising customer using any 3 payg number).

that works out to £568 in total for sim and phone. and if you want to work within the 2 year phone cycle, around £284 a year.

£400 for phone and using TCB for sim and if cashback were to go thru, it would work out to £108 which in total = £508 for 1 year, £254 over 2 years.

The 3 deal for phone works out to £919 for 2 years and £459.50 for 1 year but you're tied in a 2 year contract anyway.

I know ebay has its good and bad, however I get insurance through the bank so for me its not that much of an issue if something is wrong and ebay buyer guarantee for 30 days i guess too. Same for TCB, may work, may not but it has 99.36% satisifcation.

This may be a long method for some but maybe for others its a cheaper way to have a new handset and maybe save some money? Whatever is in your grabs really.

Hope that helps
