Most modern phones have a flashlight function built in. Waste of space IMO.
Why does it need camera access? As well as flashlight permissions? Camera access is not necessary.
Thought it was a fleshlight function. Cold.
Like has been said, all phones have this feature already. My Xiaomi i wake screen and hold the hardware button bottom left to turn on or there is button in the notification shortcuts. Pointless app these days

Because it uses the cameras flash so it needs access to the camera before it will work.

Free and cold - why...? If you don't want the app fine, don't download it, but why vote cold...!?

Perhaps reason for cold then.... This could be happening from any app on your phone you download, not just flashlights.

I would agree....there will be loads of apps doing this. However as other comments mentioned, most phones have this option now without need for an app.

The led light in your phone is part of the camera

Are you sure? The LED light on my phone works without the camera. The camera is an app that uses the LED light, but I wouldn't say the light is part of the camera.

Like others have said, most phones don't need an app to turn on the LED light so why download something which takes space and risks malware / data sharing if not necessary?

I wouldn't recommend downloading it, just answered the question. For any app to use the light it either needs root permission or the permission of the camera
