Flight from New York to London only £75 from PrimeraAir

Found 28th Nov
Been putting together a USA tour for the wife and I next year and have stumbled across an incredible price for a flight back to London from New York.

Leaving Newark Airport at 10:50pm 16th May 2018 arriving into London Stansted at 11:00am 17th May 2018.

Price includes hand luggage only. No big suitcases, no food, no seat selection.

Price including taxes is only £75 per person!!!

Lot's of other really cheap dates throughout May 2018 too, but 16th was the cheapest by a few quid.

I've booked it

I got return flights to Tokyo for £240. Nothing to do with this, I just enjoy saying so

Can you recommend a good website for scouring flight deals?
I've always been interested but the websites I find all want a specific timescale flights there and back. I just want to see if I can find cheap flights for random days through the year that pop up and I might be able to snag.

If you don't need meals, and hold luggage then these budget airlines are great. I flew Norwegian to Hartford, and it was on a 737 max aircraft, brand new and very comfortable. If you need the added extras then work out which is cheaper - if not then these cheap airlines will save a packet. I know people will come back with horror stories about cancelled flights etc, but you can find those stories from even the full service airlines. I flew 1 adult and 3 kids to america for £650 return, and had no complaints, even if the flight back departed 90 min late - if you want perfection in an airline my advice would be not to fly.

The most flexible flight search engine is probably Kiwi.com. It requires no dates or destinations and you can even do a radius search for your departure airport.

They're a touch more expensive by about £5-10 so remember to take that off when looking at pricing and buy elsewhere. Momondo is probably the best search engine if you know your dates.

Not that straight forward, but take a look at flyertalk.com and plenty of forum reading on there

Cheap for a reason most people need to add extras also the return fare is not that cheap i could fly on a dreamliner for that.

Return flights Birmingham - NYC coming in at £350 plus! inc baggage meals etc..
The question is do you save the NOTHING to go with this airline or pay the extra and go with a reputable tried and tested carrier! When you way up the total cost of a holiday (flights, hotels, spending money etc..) Personally the small saving on the flight is just a small portion when you way up the overall cost of say a 14 day holiday.

That's always quite an expensive route over here during the week (mainly business). Did you try flying into Dublin rather than BHD, bus is around £16-£20 return each from Dublin Airport to Belfast Centre, 1 Hour 50min journey.

Yeah, I've looked at that before but I am allergic to Ryanair. Jet2 were much better when they flew into aldergrove but that went the way of all things many years ago. I'm flying first thing Friday morning and flying back Monday afternoon. Would need to mortgage the house to get the Sunday evening flight. Would've helped if I'd had more than a fortnight's notice but that's family for you.

Scrape the barrel.. would rather pay a little more for a reputable carrier. All for saving but choose wisely.

Certainly was handy into Aldergrove along with the fact it is cheaper for me to get a return taxi to it rather than pay even one night parking lol. The Leeds to City holds my personal record for scariest flight ever couple of years back and I'm not easiest scared!

Without being picky to the OP, it might have been helpful to give an example fare out of the UK (this is HUKD's after all), as opposed to ex USA.

cold. I would at least want to choose what part of the wing I sit on.

my worst landing ever was from Dublin to leeds. It was the windiest day ever and we buffeted all the way over. We were within feet of the runway at Leeds and got bit by an almighty cross wind. How we didn't end up on the grass is beyond me everyone applauded when we touched down. Leeds bradford is the highest airport in the UK and boy does it get blustery up there

Hi can I ask where did you get those prices? Thanks

£75 to travel back in time a year.. Not a bad deal at all

I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO TIME TRAVEL. I’m going to book this trip (and do the lottery).

Anyone interested in the cheapest deals for travel should check out

fly 4 free
secretflying
hack the flight

You do have to check them religiously but flown to south africa, dubai, ethiopia for £220. Or £150 from belgium to Hong Kong then depart Japan back to Belgium. Or Spain to Brazil rtn £170. Aeroflot and AirCanada had error fares that they have honoured recently.

It is also a very short runway and it goes over a road. Scary place.

We laughed on the way out from City to Leeds at silly hour of the morning, where that day we where landing into somewhere that had heavy snow, not used to flying into somewhere with worse weather than we leave lol.

We didn't laugh so much on the way home that evening, we all where getting armageddon weather warnings for home through on our emails (we get civil contingencies emails), thought flight might be cancelled as some already where into Aldergrove. Ours went ahead, all fine in the lovely twin propeller Shorts bity thing, until we dropped through the clouds into Belfast Harbour, then the plane was side to side, up and down like nothing I've ever felt. Never thought for a moment he was even going to make it anywhere near the runway, even few hundred feet above and he was still side to side, hit the runway maybe 4 times at heavy speed and swore the pilot did a handbrake turn to stop the thing. Sure you know it's normally a N.Irish thing that we always "applaud" any landing, that night silence. On the way out one air hostess was shaking like mad, peeking through the cockpit door to two pilots slouched over with a look of "did we really just land this thing". All the way inside the terminal no-one spoke was so spooky, glancing up at the screen to see every flight left, changed to cancelled, turned out we where the last to land in the country that night.

With Skyscanner you can do a months search which is handy. Other sites to try are ITA Matrix and Google Flights. If you want someone else to do the leg work for you the Secretflying.com is one of the best.

The easiest way to keep costs down is to fly ex EU or outside of the UK. This then eliminates the APD element which we get it with. With a site such as Google Flights you can search multiple destinations i.e.

In departure you can list up to 5 airports such as LHR,CDG,AMS,FRA,MUC and then the same for the destination BKK, SIN, KUL, HKG the site will then search the best combination fares and display them. Below is an example:

I've flown into city many times and never had an issue. I've always had the issue at this end. The only time I had a problem with city was flying out and plane was cancelled. They sent a jet to replace it but the pilots weren't qualified for that so they had to get another crew. They gave us lots of vouchers to spend while we were waiting. My husband was driving at the other end so I converted all vouchers into gin. I was well laid back. The worst ever was the flight my brother and mother in law were on that they had to divert to Manchester. Said husband was critically ill in hospital and I didn't know if they could keep him alive long enough for his family to get there. They should have been there by nine and it was gone one in the afternoon. Every other plane landed at Leeds and even customer services had no clue were the damn plane was. That was bad.
