I was looking around on holidays to Barbados leaving the UK on May 14th and came across this.

Essentially, BA is offering flights to Barbados leaving on May 14th for £523, which isn't a bad prince IMO. I compared it with booking a flight and hotel instead and realised it only cost just over £25 more per person with accommodation included which, to me, is a no-brainer.

Even if you didn't need the accommodation, considering you'd still need to pay £523 for the flights alone, that works out to £3.43 per night more that you're paying for the accommodation!

Other dates are available of course but the pricing varies.

I usually tend to prefer Virgin but the same trip on VIrgin Holidays works out at £621

Not an option my wife is a TA in school

Any 10-14 day options?
Any discounts for a 4 year old?

IMHO Barbados is a bit of a dump, only place we requested an early flight home from and we drove all over the island to confirm that it was just not the west coast area where we were staying
Best to cruise in and leave quickly

They appear to charge an infant(under 2) the same as an adult at check out despite the hotels saying kids stay free.

I didn't do a search for the 14 days etc but if you use travelsupermarket.com, you can get it on ebookers.com, flying Virgin, with a 4 year old for the same 7 nights starting May 14 for£559.

I guess then there wouldn't be many places you'd be happy with.

Lol, that's the biggest load of crap I've ever heard.

Although I wouldn't book this deal or stay in the South of the island, the NW is the place to stay. It takes less than 30 mins to travel anywhere anyway, so no point staying in the developed South.

I've been here 5 times & it's one of my favourite places I've been to on my varied travels over the years. The mother in law also goes twice a year & loves it that much, is getting a house built over there as we speak.

You need to befriend the locals & find out where to go. Just driving around clueless is hardly ever going to uncover the hidden treasures. Once you've been once & know the places to travel to, you'll no doubt go there again

So some idiot books the wrong flights then immediately thinks 'I must inform the Daily Mail of my stupidity'

Can you explain to us here exactly where you observed it being a dump? The mere fact that you even suggested the west coast is a dump is evidence that you're an idiotic upstart!

The west coast is actually the more expensive part of the island with 5 diamond resorts such as Sandy Lane and places like Royal Westmoreland, Heron Bay, etc. If those places and surrounding areas are what you call a dump, yes you're an idiot. Either that or you should have gone to SpecSavers.

I personally wouldn't book it either because I have other options. Just sharing the pricing with Jonnyblock.

Two weeks is only a hundred quid more. I need a flight from the north or Midlands though.....please can someone help me??????

Rented a villa with direct beach access on the west coast, it was surrounded by barbed wire the same as all the others around, made a great photo looking back from the beach.
On arrival we thought things would improve as we drove away from the airport through dismal areas, but it did not.
No need to get so upset and act like a drama queen, chill out, go and kick the cat, If you like it fine, not for us though, best part for us was the view from the virgin flight leaving

Wow, amazing, that is a great help, I thought a member of less than a full year would be able to come up with much more url info.

It's Sunday btw, your bedroom needs tidying.

Barbados is brilliant for families or couples - I have visited Barbados about 5 times and being quite well travelled (worldwide) this is one place I always return to (along with Florida) - Applehead stick with Centre Parcs

Flown to Barbados with both BA & Virgin - preferred virgin but BA still good

Applehead stick with Centre Parcs

We keep a place in Hilton Head SC, would suggest you try it sometime but not sure it's a good idea, you keep staying south

I am fairly sure that Barbados isn't a dump, but not posting deals is irrelevant to both being a member and his opinion.

Great place to watch muggings live imo, whatever floats ya boat.
