Soar across the beautiful skies of the San Francisco bay area, Las Vegas, and Switzerland.

Flight Unlimited utilizes advanced streaming technology to provide some of the best visuals in flight simulation.

The HD scenery is a first in mobile flight simulation and covers an area over 10x larger than its predecessor. The scenery is so detailed you can even find your house.

The campaign tasks with you missions such as rescuing a prisoner from Alcatraz, B2 Bomber surveillance over the Swiss Alps, landing your Cessna on the Golden Gate Bridge, and more!

Over two years in the making, Flight Unlimited has been redesigned from the ground up by an aviation expert. The game features Ultra high definition satellite imagery of the San Francisco Bay Area, Las Vegas, and Switzerland.
Never before has this level of detail been provided in a Flight Simulator. Buzz the Golden Gate Bridge, take a fly-by of Alcatraz, scream past Levi Field, and even take a look at the future home of the world champion Golden State Warriors.

Features
  • Ultra HD Satellite Imagery covering over 800 SQ Miles of the Bay Area, Switzerland, and Las Vegas
  • 4K HD Cockpits for each aircraft modelled from the ground up
  • Campaign mode with GTA style missions
  • HD Volumetric 3D Clouds
  • 24 Hour Day/Night Cycle
  • Weather effects including sun, clouds, fog, rain, and storms
  • Trigger failures such as engine trouble and detached wings
  • 14 aircraft each modelled with accurate flight physics. New aircraft released weekly.
  • Landmarks such as Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, AT&T Park, Oracle Arena, Las Vegas Hotels, and more

Note that it does include DLC as an IAP for additional content. This is not a requirement to play, the base game itself is usually £8.39. It's free for the next two weeks, grab it while you can.

A cracking quote about how fine it looks attributed to, er, nobody in the blurb.

The "real" reviews tell us what to expect though right enough...
This available on Xbox?

This available on Xbox?

No
Windows 10 required.
the first Windows app I have ever downloaded from their store
Anyone know how to purchase from a non-Windows device?

Seems a rather huge oversight that the device compatibility (presumably based upon your web browser's user agent) also locks out purchasing capability....

Never having done any flight sim, can anyone tell me whether you need anything in the way of hardware to control it - other than a mouse?

And if it's as pants as reviews suggest, does anyone have any suggestions for better games in this genre?

"Approximate download size 3.44 GB", btw.
One of the most beautiful games in the windows store.... doesn't really say much that statement. MIGHT try it as it's free. Wouldn't pay in all honesty.

Haven't played this game. Used to play flight sim games years ago. Actually had the joystick you push/pull back on. I'd say having one of those makes it a lot more immersive.
Good price, but very, very poor game...
It's free, what have I got to lose? Bar nearly 4GB of download time and hard drive space
LOL GTA style missions?

To fly realistically you would need a yolk (hand controls) and optionally foot pedals. If you've got piles of cash then buy some instrument panels to set radios, etc.

You can pick up Microsoft FSX cheap online or if you've got more cash go for X-Plane 11.

Then there are add-ons to improve the sim, such as better weather, scenery / terrain and flight evaluation / instruction.

Good luck!
This game is absolutely terrible.
FSX beats it by a long-shot.

My suggestions for better games:
Flight Sim World (currently £14.99 with 25% off on Steam) seems to be getting decent reviews store.steampowered.com/app…280

or maybe DCS World (free but with loads of pay-for DLC) store.steampowered.com/app…ld/
This is worse than a mobile game and 4gb of my SSD space taken. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, DATA and SPACE downloading this. I'M warning you. Heat!
"This game does not work on your device."
BEWTOCKS!!
I'll just mention that DCS: World is free also, and it' the best flight sim available today. The base install includes two aircraft, you can choose to buy more, or not (although you'll want them all which is how they get you ) Enjoy...

Why install it on an SSD?

Why install it on an SSD?

Thats the only place where I had 4gb of free space. The game now is uninstalled.
Downloaded it as Flight Unlimited 1 (1995) and 2 were pretty good, this is awful trash as it's basically a tablet game.

Avoid and download DCS instead.
Free but plenty of negative (1 star) reviews...

...and the time you will never be able to get back after the disappointment of actually playing this waste of disk space.

I doubt many pro flight simmers would consider DCS the best Sim...

XP11 for realism followed by FSX. The rest are fancy gfx toys

FSX was great in it's day and I got a lot of enjoyment out of it, it is aged now and has been bettered. While XP11 is great, especially for civy fans. DCS: World is definitely up there with it these days.
This is the 3rd time i've tried to get a deal like this from the microsoft store in the past year or so. Every time I've had a message saying I'm not connected to the internet. I've had no issues at all with my internet connection. Ms can stick it where the sun dont shine!
Don't waste your IOPS on this!
