Stick to Benidorm then mate. Italy is one of the most beautiful countries in the world.
I'm quite embarrassed seeing fellow British people with its crappy cities suggesting that Italian cities are ****holes.

Even the more run down cities like Naples have amazing character, soul and vibrancy that UK commuter towns with their identikit high streets don't have a fraction of.

Yeah right, you've been to three cities and based on this you've decided the whole country is a Shizhole. Italy is a beautiful country and the people are really friendly. Like all UK towns are modern utopias

Only been to Rome out of those and I agree.

its just so rundown lol we took a train from geneva to milan and you could easily tell when we had crossed the border lol
Only been to Italy twice. I hated Pisa (I only went there to catch a flight next day) but Milan was fine. According to my friends who live in Italy, not the typical Italian city. Yes, has architecture and the Dome, has some history, but it is a bit more modern and cosmopolitan than other places in Italy. Lots of designer shops. You can also visit the lakes, our friend drove us there and was not a long ride. We liked it, but probably a weekend is enough there. Voted hot for the price.

Geneva is a bland rich Swiss city. Italy by comparison is arguably the cultural epicentre of Europe, if not the world.

Was in Milan 2 months ago. All can be seen in half a day. Not much to see tbh. Take a day trip to Como.
I'm impressed.

Love Italy a beautiful country... thank you for posting.
Milan as a whole is a bit of a dump. Imagine Regent street running through ICI Billingham - 2 beautiful historic streets surrounded by industrial slum land. Had the worst and most expensive italian meal in Milan, in a lovely old building. By comparison, a dirt cheap pick it yourself canteen style restaurant also in Milan was delicious.
If you're thinking of taking anything bigger than a postage stamp sized bag the price will cost you five/six times more

Britain is a total dump propped up by how much of a financial powerhouse London is. If you took it away and asked people to guess what country it was, they'd guess former Soviet countries. It's revolting the state it's in.

Milan is a beautiful city but expensive. If you like culture and architecture, this will tick a lot of boxes but for £10 its worth visiting for a few days to do some shopping, soak in a different city on a short break and have some good Italian food.

Wow...just wow.
Milan. It's like Sheffield but with less knives and forks. Not that there's anything wrong with Sheffield! ( Yooorrrkkkkkshire!!!!)
Still worth a visit though and on the whole, Italy is a beautiful country. All countries have their ' not so nice' places, but come on, a "s***hole" ???
People in glass houses......
Horrible to see so much negativity about the UK in defending another country, really not necessary just cos someone posted their opinion. Hasten to add I do not agree, I think Italy is a beautiful country with beautiful cities with some run down areas, very similar to the UK and most other cities!

Italy has far more beautiful cities than the UK. Both have beautiful countryside. UK has some amazing things Italy doesn't have, like job opportunities for young people.

It's not about running down my own country, just about telling it as it is.
Smallprint...from Bristol/London. Regular prices from Manchester sadly (thankfully it's such a beautiful city so I'm ok staying here)

Err, what the ...!
Not sure where you get that idea...

Many wonderful towns outside of London, especially the many wonderful national parks!

... yep, I can totally see how Britain "is a total dump"!

Flew to Milan earlier this year, traveled an hour to Bergamo, beautiful town to spend two or three days theculturetrip.com/eur…mo/

I'd love to, the issue is the UK is London-centric and money flows like a tidal wave from there, getting weaker and weaker as it gets further north.
I have never had the trotts so bad than the day I unloaded in a Milanese café. lol I was so scared. Nice view of the stadium tho.
HEAT!

We had an industrial revolution, the cities were built to house trains and workers. Our nation worked it's ass off while the rest were enjoying a siesta. We have a high density of populace and still 'they' come seeking work and housing. Why does France and Italy look as medieval today as it ever did? Because 'they' are all over here picking fruit and plumbing toilets! Who goes to Italy to look for work? No one, they all speak English lol

Your grasp of modern and contemporary history is... well... interesting.

Oversimplified, maybe. I'll give you that, but this isn't the place.
Do you not think that this is all a little childish now? Surely if you don’t like Milan, either keep that to yourselves or simply ignore the post completely. It has nothing to do with the UK, whether London makes the UK what it is or whether the everywhere is just as rubbish as everywhere else.

Simply, chill the hell out. It’s almost Christmas. 🎄
