I was trying to accommodate your comment on returning from different airport lol. Chill.

IrishMan

..... including accommodation.....see today's Thailand deal!!

IrishMan

Every other week you'll get a deal similar to this, "saving £1.1k....." what drugs are you on? They always put up ludicrous prices before and after these deals..... you could fly to Asia and have, TWICE for that money.

RUGAAL

You’re saving £1.1k in the case of missing return one and book it elsewhere?

IrishMan

Of course, but then it isn't really a good deal then.

Yeah I've heard Air China is best to be avoided.

nahblud

Good grief

peachescrumble

They have hidden delays too. You will board the plane on time, but then they won't make any announcement and keep everyone on the plane for as long as they need. Flew with them twice and it happened twice.

I've never been able to book these cheap Air China flights in the past. They've always errored right at the end when submitting payment. I keep thinking the prices are glitches designed to bump up their search rating on affiliate sites.

Is there any indication as to when this offer will end?

WowWowWeeWaa

Point taken, but if there is someone out there who doesn’t realise America is a much bigger place than the U.K then they don’t deserve to play on the water slides (lol)

rama26285

Driving in the USA outside of cities is a doddle, completely agree. Stick on cruise control, sit back and relax! You might even have to turn the steering wheel once every 100 miles lol They may not have speed cameras like we do here, but they have plenty of highway patrol and state troopers hiding all over the place with speed guns, so to be careful. I once got a ticket doing around 83mph at 2am on a deserted highway, so be warned!

rama26285

I completely agree with everything you said here. I just found the wording of the original post a little misleading.... you made it sound like Orlando was the next town over when in reality it's a 3+ hour drive and there might be someone who doesn't realise that from saying it's round the corner :)

jinkssick

Found Cali a lot more expensive than Florida, the beaches were not as good, not to say Floridas are world beaters but Sarasota's was amazing. The latin-esque food is close to non in Florida from Cuban to caribbean. As for general life, Cali does beat it. You have to fight more with the 8 hour time diff. I always try and stay away from the parks in Florida and stay at airbnbs for real experience. The borough run waterparks in each area are incredibly value and alike nothing that a council would ever provide here.

Been a few times now and I love it. Great people, great food, great culture. I recently went during the Sakura cherry blossom season and though it was beautiful, I was slightly underwhelmed. IMO I much prefer it in any other normal season when its less busy. Everywhere was insanely busy during the sakura season and I just found it a bit too much. Other than that....GO BOOK NOW XD

Late March is generally the Sakura (Cherry Blossom) season and considered one of the best time to visit. Weather wise even now is a good time to go there. With the Olympics there next year - dates closer to it everything will be just much more expensive.

Fantastic price. Hot

winchman

Check-in was at the desk so a bit difficult wifi.. Even so, they should tell you it has no window and give the option to change. If you are at the desk and ask for a window seat, its what you expect, a window.. Its actually on quite a few planes.. mine was on a 777-300 i think it was.

pickledtink

Always a good idea to check the plane seat plan on seatguru.

winchman

On Qatar just make sure you don't get the window seat with no window... Wasn't happy I didn't have a window, but what was the real annoyance was the reduced shoulder room, it's full thickness bulkhead rather than the alcove you get with a window.

pickledtink

Not dissing the op because it is a cheap price. However these Chinese airlines always have this route around this price and even less. Can be as low as 270 return. Fine if you're a young intrepid backpacker as they are always long and exhausting usually with very long layovers. Not much nor pleasant service and dreadful customer service if there are delays or cancellations. At my age and as I have to travel a lot I go for Emirates or Qatar for SEA destinations. Next trip I'm away for 2-3 months and have 12 flights of assorted lengths. For the main route London - return - Bangkok I'm on Qatar at 460 but Emirates can be got for about 430. Etihad and Turkish air are both pretty good and can be around 400. If you are off for a long adventure this is a good price to get you there as you can afford recovery time but for a short 2 week holiday pay a bit more.

Was there the during the summer (40 days) and returned at the end of August. Great time to go if you like Disneyland because there were virtually no queues because all the mainlanders have stayed away. Went on most rides several times and watched Lion king and the Frozen live shows. Kids loved it. Not allowed to take cans in to the park but you can take bottles of Coke and snacks. Also, every weekend, there will be large demos across HK and New Territories and some of the transport network will shut down. Download the bus apps to get updates. We mainly used Mini buses and taxis. We went out everyday apart from when the Typhoon no.8 struck. Get a Starling account for free atm withdrawal. Also, don't wear black especially now and don't wear a mask because you will definitley be arrested.

wooden.top

If you flying to Singapore then you are most likely not short of a few quid. 140 quid is nothing. I'd rather save a massive amount of time and avoid the hassle of an indirect flight with a not so great airline.

sparkzilla

I used Air China this year in May to China and Japan. We booked the new a 350.900 which was a really nice plane. The only issue is they have 3 rows of 3 seats, so I had to sit accross the Isle from my wife and 2 kids, however no one was next to me on any of the flights. Entertainment is poor (bring an iPad), the air stewards didn't speak fluent English but food is edible. I would absolutely fly with them if the price was right. Not as good as Emirates (they really look after kids) but acceptable. At the end of the day, it depends what you want. Flying for me is an A to B necessity, I'd rather spend extra money once at my destination that on the flight.

DealsElf

They are no difference if it is economy class. Air China actually is not bad, they offer free transit hotel or first class lounge pass for long waiting flights.

sach7

Quick Google on one of the dates suggests its about £490 for a direct flight, 13 hours instead of the 21. Depends how much you value your time, I guess. 16 fewer hours waiting around for £140, with BA, is pretty reasonable.

Beer in all the food courts (in Chinatown for example) is reasonably priced with obviously a huge selection of food options. Also it can be really sociable with the locals, especially at the weekend. Had a couple of really great afternoon/evenings "partying" in the food courts.

clemisace

Went last year, paid £12 for a stella, over rated, over priced. Returned this year, avoided all the tourist hotspots, eat like the locals, cheap as chips.

Loveglitches

Been flying with BA last 5 years , they are not too bad plus Heathrow for me is the closest , also collecting avios points so always get some money off tickets, and reasonable prices too :) in fact last time we were on holidays and my daughter ended up in hospital so BA was kind and changed our tickets for few days later to come back to UK free of charge , so cannot complain they are good airlines

ScoobyStoo

The notion of "national" airlines dates back to the time when most large airlines were run (normally at a huge loss) by a country's government. It's an outdated concept now. The term doesn't mean anything anymore. BA is an airline that only survives by leveraging its incredibly valuable slots at LHR and LGW.

kinnth

They are phasing the 747's out slowly, mainly used on the Orlando routes now I beleive. I think the problems on the Dreamliners with the engines may have slowed this down a bit.

You really need to listen to your own advice. This was taken from the Qatar website. Educate yourself you idiot.

thehoneymunster

If you need to come on to the internet and lie, good for you. I can't honestly be bothered anymore, you've contradicted yourself several times. And Q Suite is deffiently a First Class product. Well done.

Michaelgell91

thehoneymunster: Honestly. What is your issue? The A320 only has recliner seats on that service. The pictures you posted of Qatar Business Class, the bottom one is a Q Suite, which costs a lot more than Business Class, as is actually one of their First Class products. I was trying to explain there was a difference between a lie flat and a fully flat bed in Business Class, which there very much is. Fully flat means that it's adjacent with the aircraft floor, i.e. 180 degree angle. Lie flat means it's the seat converts so it is flat, but doesn't mean that it will be adjacent with the aircraft floor, so not an 180 degree angle. You originally boasted that you can get a Business Class flight with Qatar for £999, and I said, not ex UK like the original post, which was my first point. I am well aware that Qatar have won Skytrax Best Airline 5 years, the first airline ever to do so, but thanks. Also, you must have a time machine, as you apparently flew from DXB to PER yesterday at 8AM? When Emirates only have the one daily service from DXB to PER at 02:45. Nice trolling bro. The Q suite is a business class product, Please do some research before you try to troll. Also the izmir-doha-singapore return flight also costs 999 and is in a Qsuite business seat. I understand your point regarding lie flat and fully flat, but according to the Qatar official website the A320 that serves the Izmir - Doha route has 180 degree fully flat bed and so does the second leg onwards to Asia. I honestly don't know what your problem is, you clearly know a small amout about aviation yet can't go on the qatar website and check what you are arguing about before you post. Also I was on EK432 to brisbane via singapore, got a virgin flight to perth. Thanks for checking though. P.s heres my flight from edinburgh to dubai on the 777

How much is the direct?

johnnyboyuk

The flight from London to Boston should be roughly 7h30, the Dublin stop makes it around 10h30. I think the immigration process should be well under 3 hours so I'd probably prefer a direct if prices were same.

tawse57

I am all for the Scouts doing a cookie drive or organising a local car wash. But I draw the line at them flying transatlantic aircraft so they can raise money for their new scout hut.

Also you'll do USA Customs in Dublin, saving you time in the USA.

Excalibur

Voted hot for price but I loathe Air China as hav had various poor flying experiences with them. They lost my hold luggage, were draconian about my cabin luggage, have the worst in-flight entertainment and food and drinks and the service is just as bad. I’d recommend trying China Southern for a far better experience. Just don’t overpack your bags on the way back if you have to stopover in Guangzhou, China as the Baiyun Airport check-in staff are jobsworths for the most part.

U.K. is comparable to USA, AU is more akin to Paradise, such small inconveniences in a airline to get there and escape.

Flight Scout are a comparison flight tool (you are not actually booking a flight with them) - if you have found some cheap flights then on the next step you will see the travel agents or airlines that have the flight prices and you would then choose to book with them. thanks
