How much is the direct?

johnnyboyuk

The flight from London to Boston should be roughly 7h30, the Dublin stop makes it around 10h30. I think the immigration process should be well under 3 hours so I'd probably prefer a direct if prices were same.

tawse57

I am all for the Scouts doing a cookie drive or organising a local car wash. But I draw the line at them flying transatlantic aircraft so they can raise money for their new scout hut.

thecomesandgoes

Also you'll do USA Customs in Dublin, saving you time in the USA.

exel1966

Effectively BA tickets, Aer Lingus flights, the transatlantic portion operated by ASL on an Aer Lingus 757.

Boston is so expensive. Any good hotel deals?

getmore4less

The Boston flights are so short you don't get time to grab a decent nap between drinks and meals. (virgin and BA meals are just fillers united/delta are better)

Fluff

You'd be looking at a lot more for a bit more leg room. Considering the exchange rate, you'll need your pennies on the ground so just scooch up your knees and suck it up :)

Can any one recommend good hotel, apartment, air B&B etc for a week in each boston & New york???

I mean, it's literally on the other side of the world and there are no direct flights, 24 hours is pretty average for a flight to Australia.

Excalibur

Voted hot for price but I loathe Air China as hav had various poor flying experiences with them. They lost my hold luggage, were draconian about my cabin luggage, have the worst in-flight entertainment and food and drinks and the service is just as bad. I’d recommend trying China Southern for a far better experience. Just don’t overpack your bags on the way back if you have to stopover in Guangzhou, China as the Baiyun Airport check-in staff are jobsworths for the most part.

seaniboy

U.K. is comparable to USA, AU is more akin to Paradise, such small inconveniences in a airline to get there and escape.

zchari5

Wow, cheap!. Paid about £1000 per person including 2 kids and 2 adults in Aug with Emiraates but stoping off in Asia for ~ 10/7 so 4 flights in total (Uk -> dubai -> asial asia -> singapore -> Melbourne)

Chanchi32

Flight Scout are a comparison flight tool (you are not actually booking a flight with them) - if you have found some cheap flights then on the next step you will see the travel agents or airlines that have the flight prices and you would then choose to book with them. thanks

Does anyone know a site or sites best for all inclusive holidays , where you dont need to put in dates just find the cheapest from like airport , star rating . Cheers

badgerman2

Just ignore. It was one of the most unnecessary and mean spirited comments I’ve read on this site. Have a fantastic trip, it’s a great price for a fabulous destination and you’ve done a good thing. But you probably already know that :)

Just be careful on the internal flights as your baggage is not normally included and you can pay as much as the flight again for baggage...

gu2gan

Who knows.....i have 28 a year but only when i earn them by working....

kitana8

You are entitled to a minimum 20 a year and can take them within reason at any time. So what he is doing is illegal. Should check up on your rights

gu2gan

No he said that starting Jan we got 2.3 holiday per month...so we can't be paid for holiday if we ain't entitled...

kitana8

That’s also illegal. Can get into to serious trouble for that kind of thing

To give a random recommendation. I really liked Ko Ngai (stayed at the Ko Ngai resort. Laid back and cheap.) Ferry goes from Pak Meng near Trang.

Yes but shhhhhh don’t tell everyone.

You clearly didn’t see the real Singapore! I stayed with friends who tools me to all kinds of day and night places where local people hang out. Am back for a second trip. Fantastic food. Great markets day or night. Historic sights. Lots of shopping malls and local shopping streets. Botanical gardens and parks. Sentosa and Batam. Massage! Seafood. Really interesting cross-cultural mix of Malay, Indian and Chinese people living easily alongside each other. It’s not simply a tourist destination. It’s an interesting country with some good policies.

Rastafari

:p yes iya

neilski1963

15+ hour stop off in Amsterdam? Thats me missing the plane to Singapore then. ;)

Bobbins

I am. Going to see a mate in Singapore for a long weekend in December. Paid £444 for direct flights on the A380 with BA. Hand baggage fare for me which is fine for a couple of pairs of shorts and a few tees. Anyway £90 buys you a lot of laundry in SE Asia. And then if you flying a lot of Asian LCCs, you don’t want proper luggage. The BA fare at ~£100 more, but direct is much better value. But, most folk on here know the price of everything and the value of nothing.
