Sure it's about this price in B&Q, you have to ask for it, it's stored behind the counter.
Rookie question, how would you take something apart that has had this stuff slipped on it. Heat?

Solvent welds are hard to 'break' but sometimes heat applied by the way of hot water will turn the set solvent to a rubber-like form. You should then be able to pull/twist apart.

More often than not though it's cutting and replacing with new pipe or fitting if damaged.

No - you would have to cut it and re-joint if necessary.

Yep, simply pointing out to potential buyers that they won't even find reference to it in the shelves, you have to know to ask for it.

You can try cutting the fitting with a hacksaw length wise and prying it apart. Avoid damaging the pipe.

This stuff is basically humbrol polystyrene cement. It works by temporarily dissolving the two plastics, which then merge and re solidify.

Short answer cut and replace. You should see this as a permanent fixing.
Ok, I have an Air admitance valve that might be faulty (foul air in the loft), stuck tight, awkward spot too.

£6 odd in b&q
Heat from me, thanks OP. The identical item in Screwfix is £5.69. Toolstation's equivalent (250ml, branded Aquaflow) is £4.38.
Brilliant stuff for a permanent joint on plastic pipe, but no sniffing lol
