Should be good quality as well! Pity it doesn't state the HP.

Florabest is the registered trade mark of Lidl Stiftung & Co KG. The list below details ALL Florabest machines made under licence by Einhell UK
Are these in store on the 28th?

Powder coated finish looks good.
This, or the £99 one from Homebase?
I would like to know how heavy it is and if it the grass in stripes. I have to say I will be surprised if I get a reply to this as I have never had a reply from Lidl having sent many emails.
How does this compare to the £179 machine currently on offer at aldi?
I am not sure if it's still true, but priority one for a lawnmower is making sure it has a Briggs and Stratton motor, then the rest of it is typically pretty generic and subject to taste/quality (e.g. ergonomics, quality of plastics, aesthetics).
is this self propelled?
I've had an Einhell in the past (Powerbase) which was a bit cheap and nasty, carb kept getting blocked. This however does appear to be a bit more substantial so may be worth a punt. Been using a Honda Izy now for the past 3 years and I wouldn't use anything else now. Yes it will cost double the price of this, but I guess you get what you pay for.
self-propelled?
best mower i ever used was an 18 inch self propelled Honda with an steel roller on the back

would have cost nearer a grand though.
You'd be better saving up for the UtterlyButterlyBest version. It spreads the grass better.
Gut feel is not self propelled as they typically have two control bars on the handle (one for mower engine and one to engage traction) this only has one.
for sale already in N.Ireland

i think this is it
my gut feeling is it's not self propelled, otherwise it would say so (Duh)
from looking at the main photo on the lidl site there is only one deadman bar on it. not two which you need for self-propelled

My advice, stay away from cheap lawn mowers you really do get what you pay for!

Notice the cheap plastic pull cord handle, just give it a pull just to see how many times it jams up?

+1 for Izy, had mine for over 10 years and always starts first time

I was thinking same, sure 2 for Self Propelled
I'm probably in on this, owned a crappy Macallister with a Briggs and Stratton engine, everyone said get that engine... but the mower gear box went after 4 mows!

I am pretty sure this isn't self propelled, but if not too heavy it still is better than the Flymo I use and just not having to use an extension with 40 metres of cable does it for me!

Engine performance: ca. 1.82 kW (2.47 hp) at 2,900 min-1
It appears to be a rebadged Grizzly BRM 42-125 BSA. (the service details in the Florabest Bm 450 a1 manual is grizzly@lidl.co.uk)

As an alternative would this Einhell be worth considering @ £139.99: toolstation.com/sho…543

Aldi had a self propelled petrol lawnmower for £179.99. Online stock sold out but there could be some stock left in some stores.

This McCulloch M40-125 Petrol looks similar to the Lidl/Grizzly and is currently on Amazon for £173.27:

Why do they even sell lawnmowers in this country? The average size of the ''gardens'' here are the size you could cut down with scissors!
all gone in the older store in lisburn

Cut my lawn for first time this year the other day and it I had to empty my 50 litre collector 12 times and took me over an hour with a self propelled mower. Would take me a week with scissors lol.

for the main land yea
My very old Mountfield has, I think, died permanently and I bought the Aldi mower yesterday as its replacement. (I rang Aldi customer services and a very helpful assistant told me that morning's stock situation at all branches in my area - all but one had stock but they are obviously selling out.) Be aware that no oil is included and you will need 500ml to fill (and another 500ml for the oil change after 'running in') - the Screwfix product at £3.99/litre is ideal. The mower was fairly easy to assemble (although the two instruction leaflets were slightly contradictory and inexplicit) and appears quite rugged. After filling, the mower started easily and seems to perform well - which will please my wife when she cuts the lawn.
Just bought one in Lidl Weston super Mare, there are 5 left at 10AM.

Put together in about 20 mins, oil from Proper Job and Fresh fuel, 3 pumps on engine and started first time!

Can't go wrong for £139, fairly light for a non self powered.

If that's your measure it would have to be Honda!
B&S may be better than many no-name chinese brands but they really aren't all that great. Crankshaft seal went on mine after limited use and it became an oil spreader!
i purchased one of these the other day it worked fine now on refilling the petrol up the pump does not work !!! could you please advise me on what i should do .... thank you ,,,
