Florida International Drive, 2 Adults + 2 Kids for 2 weeks - Flights + Hotel.

This deal has now changed - more like £1200 now - the child prices have gone up by £75 - still a good deal - but not as good as it was.

£1150 with quidco.

Most of the heat from this deal was when it was £1050

If the link doesnt work, select florida/orlando/international drive.
London Gatwick.
8th May 2010, 14 nights.

Look for the "child from" £150 and select those.

3/4 different hotels to choose from - all in a decent position - near everything.

When checking out, the kids eat free at £7 + the seaword/busch gardens/acquatita tickets at £69 (minus quidco) are decent deals too.

You MUST have the car insurance - or they'll force it on you when you pick the car up - i'm going to book a car from somewhere else, can get a better car for a few quid more.

Taking kids out school - and before you say anything, its none of your business, discussions about this have gone on and on in the past.

You do however realise that people have kids under the age of 5?.... you know, they dont pop out and go straight to school?

Fab! Just wish my kids didn`t have SATS in May!

Send them to a school that is less **** about term time holidays.

Great deal, but already had our (term time) family holiday this year.

Look around, flights are £325 absolute minimum and your talking £300-£400 even for these average hotels for 2 weeks... so your getting a £1500-£1600 holiday for £1k.

Sweet deal :0

Do I have to take 2 kids? This is a bargain and I'm tempted to go back again.

Edit: Never mind. Just remembered getting 14 day tickets is going to cost about £900.

Original Poster

More like £900 if you dont take the kids.... still a decent deal....

its the kids for £75 each which is the clincher.

This is a moderately busy time to go apparently (park-wise), but it gets busy near the end of the month... you dont want to go when it's busy, its terrible!.... i'm hoping were back before it gets busy.

Fantastic price for a famiy. Wish i could go now.

Shame prices are so rediculous in school holidays so i say if you can go then good for you.

Taking kids out of school is one thing but I cant take my wife out of school as she is a teacher! Holidays are always very expensive for us or we just cant afford to go. Not fair at times.

I dont like taking my kids out of school, but if it makes the difference between 2 weeks in Florida and 2 weeks in a Caravan... then i'll do it. We couldnt even find a weekend in Disney Paris for this price.

The parks are not too busy and the weather is great during may, Half term for us is the begining of June this year and the prices shoot up. This is a great deal.

It might be great, but not as great as:

Seedless White Grapes only 59p @ ALDI ( One of the Aldi Super 6 - Nationwide Offer)

Which makes it to the front page - or it appears anything by andywedge...

You dont notice these things until you post a deal, how skewed the system actually is.

nice and cheap

Feeling your pain brother, have some H&R

Good price for flights and hotel. Don't forget to factor in park tickets and car hire though - around £15 a day for car hire, £225 per adult for disney and £90 per adult for universal.

I'm tempted sans-kids... I'll take a look.

excellent price,,,compared to what i am paying in late aug.

Prices are usually based on 4 sharing, hence they're fairly cheap. Also check out www.travelcitydirect.co.uk (who are now owned by Virgin) for similar deals.

Great price and on the exact day I want to go also, think they would mind if I didnt have 2 kids ? lol

Your twisting my-melon?...

It is usually based on 4 sharing, but 4 adults at the same price, this is 2 adults at £450, 2 kids at £75.

£2250-£2500 for same time, same hotel at travelcity.... they used to be cheap 4/5 years ago - but i've not seen a decent deal there for a long time.

Amen Brother - I'm in the same boat.

Anyone with a family member in the education profession is royally screwed by the holiday companines as they hike prices "due to demand". :x

Travel City prices sky-rocketed after Virgin bailed them out as you're now flying scheduled with them from Gatwick or Manc rather than on a crummy charter.
Good find though Mr.Cokeman and so glad it's not another CD or DVD special offer.

I went overthe easter holiday 2 weeks before the credit crunch started and the parks were rammed. Amazingly though they just cope with it and it never seems to be a problem. Try a British theme park even when they are not busy (like the hell that is Legoland (queueland), and the Florida ones seem like heaven compared.

You nailed it. They even make queuing fun in FL, British 'theme' parks have so much to learn. Best queues have to be either Tower of Terror or Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Disney Hollywood Studios.

Wow never been have 2 kids - got me tempted even tho there only 8mths & 2 n half !!!!!!!!

Great price - but it's going to be a LOT more than that by the time you've factored in the Disney and/or Universal tickets!

On the plane, try not to get the seats in front of the midsection wall near the toilets - you get people pushing by behind your seat all the time to get to the loos. Very annoying!

If you can afford it I'd thoroughly recommend a day at Discovery Cove. discoverycove.com/
The dolphin swim doesn't last long but it's a fantastic water park and you can swim/snorkel with the rays and other fish. It's pricey but everything is included including food and drinks and there's a limited number of people allowed in each day so it's relaxing and enjoyable.

Not worth it in my opinion. It's a long flight with such youngsters and long days in the heat might not be ideal. We waited until ours were 4 & 7 to enjoy it properly (even then they couldn't get on quite a few rides still).

Now at the risk of being a bit thick!!

I am tempted to book one of these, but do not want to drive when I get there (have enough of driving at work), anyway, would it be expensive just to rely on Taxi's etc?

Actually, Easter holiday rates aren't too bad:
cosmos-holidays.co.uk/pac…tec

The kids rates go up to about £200 but that's pretty reasonable for school hols time.

Most hotels offer free shuttle buses to the main parks. The hotels in this deal seem to be on international drive, which is a great spot for resturants and shopping. Not sure on taxi prices, come to think of it never actually seen any taxis there.

Not being thick at all Archermav. If you stay on International Drive, there's a bus that does nothing but run up and down all day for $1.25 each way. Taxi's can be pricey, but most of the hotels do complimentary bus travel to the Disney parks. You can walk to Universal Studios from Stop No.8 on the above mentioned bus.

Driving in Florida is pretty easy - most people are laid back, the roads are wide and it's all automatics. Driving in Florida is quite a different experience to UK driving.

Disney is quite a way from International Drive. You can get transport and most hotels will lay on a shuttle to the Disney parks, but it's a lot easier to bundle tired kids into a car at the end of a busy exciting day - and the car gives you a lot more freedom and choice of where to go, eat, etc.

Oops!

If you look though the dates that come up are 17th April, not 3rd. Assume Easter is sold out!!
