Good price but word of warning I got a similar bbq from homebase recently and the whole thing caught alight the first time I lit it. Also the gas is very expensive in there (about £40 for a small propane canister)

i got the next one up from this with the side burner takes forever to cook food so slow,

I wanted to use butane on mine but it came with the fittings for propane so didn;t dare use butane

You can use either but if you want to use butane you can change the regulator cost you about £8. Also as we've just discovered, butane is being phased out of use for anything but heaters - so my local Focus manager informed me after a 30minute wasted trip for gas for my tea!! Which would mean so I'm told that it's harder to get hold of, we ended up having to go to a petrol station and pay £3 more than what focus charged me last time.

oh! I found it hard to get propane and it cost a fortune from Homebase!

Argos have the same for £35 as well... but Homebase could be better with Nectar points

lol - maybe my focus were just trying to make a buck out of me then

i got the argos one, pretty pleased with it

Voted hot. Literally.

How much is the gas and gas bottle if you buy it? Whats the normal price? Thanks

I brought an 8kg propane cylinder from a local welding supplies company for £13, the bbq on max consumes approx 0.45kg per hour on full giving over 16 hours of bbqing!!!! You will have to change the regulator (the bit that connects to the gas cylinder) though which costs approx £6 as the one supplied will only fit gas bottles brought from Homebase type places.

Someone said that if you nip down to your local tip, ask for a calor gas bottle (any size or colour) there is sometimes a nominal small fee about a fiver.
Then take it to your local calor supplier they will swap the bottle for the one you need and fill it up, i called last week was given two options for the smaller bottles for £17 & £24.

Im pretty sure Calor come with a regulator too, just take the one on the bbq off.

Is this made of lead?how on earth does it weight 67kg?

What's wrong with coal and a good old fashioned bbq?

fire fire fire! :-D

I've had several of this type of BBQ over the years - i've given up on them as they end up becoming rusticles. I paid about 10x more and now have a fully stainless steel one. I know it costs alot more, but I do alot of BBQing, and in the long run it pays off.

Agreed. Cheap charcoal bbqs are usually ok, but cheap gas ones tend to be crap, which is annoying if you've bought the bottle of gas.

If you love your bbq, go with a Weber or Outback bbq. They'll last for a 20 years if looked after and stored undercover in winter.

I have a weber charcoal one which I've had for 10 years - sits in my garden, and has been uncovered for the past 5 years (the cover disintegrated as many of them do). The BBQ is still in very good condition, though I don't use charcoal as much as I used to. Gas is just too convenient.

B&Q have a Florida gass BBQ with a side tray (not a hob) it's £48.98 but I used the £20 off gas BBQ coupon in their summer garden magazine (found instore) and brought it down to £28.98.

The coupon is meant to be used for another BBQ but at Newport store they had signs on all the BBQ, except this one telling people they could use the voucher on ANY gass BBQ.

EDIT - I haven't opened it yet, does anyone know if they still come with or use coals? I may take it back if it doesn't.

They don't come with or use coals I think it says in the instructions not to.
