Except it isn't 1080p, it's just the DVR that's capable. Whilst 720p is very good it certainly isn't as great as a 1080p system.

Ridiculously cheap for 4 x cameras and a DVR.

Nice price...but you get what you pay for I’m afraid. It’s not the best picture quality, look for something at least 720p if you want to see clear ‘good’ images.

Good shout. Ordered one for my folks' place and one for mine.

The XMEye software is awful, and the boxes aren't great, but it's still insane value for money if a low end system will do the job.

It'll help deter scumbags from trying to break in again, and will keep an eye on my parents' dumb-as-a-bag-of-rocks rescue dog.

Says it's from EU warehouse, so no import duty.

Stupid browser. Ordered
Ended up with 3 different sets of CCTV

I bought this system a couple of years ago off ebay, or at least one very similar (Floureon DVR plus 4x900TVL cameras). You can't complain for the money but when some idiot decided to randomly set fire to my house, I actually caught the event happen on CCTV and handed over the evidence to the police. Needless to say the footage was too grainy to identify any of the suspects involved and was useless to the cops. It ended up costing well over £100k to repair my house, so its probably wiser to save up and spend a few quid extra on a decent system.

worth getting just to use as a deterent ,cheaper than buying fake cameras

I'd recommend going for something with more TVL.
Someone I know has the 1500 tvl system and compared to our 3000 tvl system it is absolutely useless.
After some teething problems the picture quality of ours day and night is really good, well worth paying that bit more.

This system uses analogue standard definition cameras, resolution being described in 'TVL' or TV lines. This will not be comparable in quality to anywhere near even 720p. You'd be hard pressed to find such cameras in any modern CCTV installation. Still it's only 25 quid.

Haven't voted either way. If your budget is really limited, throw in a cheap 40 quid HDD and you may have a working CCTV system but for a bit more, you can get a lot better.

Good point, I installed CCTV in my house a few years ago and looked at these cheaper ones, for the time taken to install (or pay someone to) and when an incident takes place and the footage is useless then you will be left wondering why you didn't spend a few hundred pounds on a good reliable system that you can trust.

Amazon warehouse had Hikvision 4mp the other day down to 50 pounds with the 20% discount, you could have a great quality 4 camera setup for under 400 pounds.

Thing is, it’s a BNC input, so even if the cameras are 720p, the video quality won’t input at that resolution will it...?

Our kit from amazon was “720p” but as the signal is analogue, it’s not great.

Worth a punt for the money though.

Worth noting that these appear to work with multiple types of cameras.. the one I bought for £51 states it supports "TVI/CVI/AHD/Analog/IP Camera" and ONVIF compatible.. so should be able to connect ONVIF ip cameras
