Fluval flex 57l aquarium in black or white for £109.99 closes prices are £120 and above.
Great starter tank with integrated filter and light. Needs heater (100W) for tropical but is only about 10 to 20 quid. Bargain IMO.

It’s a great looking tank, however it’s not really 57l due to the sectioned off back. That probably takes up about 10l of the capacity, and little fish can get in the back through the gaps in the cutout grills. They seem happy enough swimming in and out of there though
Also a 50w heater is more than sufficient in this tank
Me local fish and chip shop has a tall version of these

Those holes in the back were the bane of my life. Daily rescue missions!
Fluval now do guards to go over them but I meshed over mine.

I initially thought I had to save the little danios that were getting in the filter section... Then I realised they actually enjoyed swimming between the 3 sections at the back They would easily manoeuvre back and forth, and would appear from nowhere as soon as I would put food in the tank
Cold its not a 500 litre tank.

Not as bad as the Spec V you can't even get a net in the back to get them, you have to Syphon them out lol.

The guards aren’t great, i meshed inside the guard but I still have baby shrimp get through and many have grown to adults in the chamber.

i have the Spec 5 60l, my wife has the smaller flex. Thought the chambers were the same. Had issues with light timers too on the tanks and had to modify the filter to keep the third chamber full of water. Not a great design to be honest but i do like the tank.

The 3rd chamber is supposed to drain as evaporation occurs, you just keep it topped up occasionally.
Its not a bad design, its a normal sump system unless your mainly referring to the light timers ?
The £125 105L tetra from argos is better value.. I also used vouchers and got it for £75

My third chamber lowered to the pump rapidly set up as intended. I removed sponge from centre chamber filled it with matrix and alfagrog and put one long course sponge along the first chamber grills and my heater is in first chamber also, in centre chamber i have the pre-filter sponge on top. So far no drainage in third chamber and a lot more media in the filter. Tank is running very well, i have Cory Hastatus breeding which are notoriously difficult but it isn’t designed for fry unfortunately so they don’t make it at least as far as i know (it’s densely planted).
