Flymo 1200 R Lithium-Ion Robotic Lawn Mower Up to 400 sq m, 18 V

If you are a lawn aficionado then it may not be for you but for most people it does the job and does it well. One word of caution that I discovered to my cost on a previous machine that we had, when placing the base plate/charger make sure that it is placed on a patio slab or something similar. If placed directly on the earth you will find that ants are attracted to it, (something to do with the current apparently) and they can destroy the motherboard etc. something the manuals don't tell you.

You could try price match it with another retailer like Curry's who offer a price promise.

I’m literally blown away by the fact ants destroy motherboards...

I believe that this is where the term "bug" came from, when referring to computers. It was literal insects that got inside an early computer and knackered it.

these might actually be worth it when they hit about £200

Spent £1600 on my Husqvarna, two years ago. Haven't had to cut my lawn (0.4 acres) once. Strim the edges every couple of weeks and my lawn care is done.

Depends how much you like mowing your grass I suppose, how much value you place on your time and your patch. For me, it was either an expensive robotic mower, or an expensive petrol Honda HRD (£1200) or small ride-on.

If they were in stock or if I can find someone to price match I'll pick one up for my parents, they're not getting any younger.

Only available at Wembley Argos.
Do they even have gardens in Central London, I thought they built on every inch of land!
Please don't be offended, its call sarcasm!

I just want to buy one to time lapse film this 😃
These are great. Save loads of time and hassle. After using the 1200R all last summer, I bought another (Black Friday £399) for my mum’s garden. £350 is a very good price.
Shame only a few stores in the whole country that have it in stock

Very good price but not in stock
Given the lack of stock they must be discontinuity it. Will be interested to see the new model.

They're worth it at £350. In fact, we gave £450 for ours last year - totally worth it.
Boo my gardens on 3 levels, with steps between
Can anyone see any in stock anywhere?
Great deal..... but no stock or nearby
I used to spend 2-3 hours every couple of weeks mowing the lawn before I bought one of these!!
Does it work ok on uneven ground / thick grass

That's nothing. They actually run their own farms, complete with 'livestock': theguardian.com/env…ers

As per same post last week, ..there are spares on the flymo site for this that have been discontinued ..so beware!
Waiting for Xiaomi to bring one out

Sadly, according to that page, I'm mistaken as to the origin of the term "bug". Though it was the first recorded instance. Half of the facts I know are true.
Interested to know how effective these are on sloping/uneven ground. Any owners that can advise? Thanks

Not really. It has a tilt sensor which is quite sensitive. Also recommend cutting the grass first. It's designed to take off a millimetre or two and mulch.
I remember seeing one of these on demo once. Well, I say on demo, someone didn't tell whoever set the demo area up not to put it next to a pond...

Good news is they do float.

Is this a joke or a true story? Mine never ended up in the river in my garden!

True story I'm afraid! It was at the Alnwick Garden a few years back.
