Flymo 1200R - Almost Cheapest Ever Awesome Robot Lawnmower. Best VFM option available - £400 @ Argos

We call our Flymo 1200R "Larry" who has done an awesome job for the last three years, cutting our lawn for over 3k hours according to his counter and it has never looked better Unfortunetly however he's got a fault now so we're buying Larry 2! Never been at a better price. You can pay a lot more of robot lawn mowers but this is a great VFM option.

Want to put your feet up but the lawn needs mowing, who says you can't do both? The Flymo 1200R Robotic Lawnmower mows a lawn area of up to 400m all by itself. It works by mowing in a random pattern, whatever the garden shape so that all parts are covered. And when it runs out of power, it will automatically return to its charging station and refuels. It has a mulching feature, so there's no need to dispose of grass clippings.

Because safety is of the utmost importance, it has a highly sensitive sensor and stop button to prevent accidents. It's able to sense and avoid obstacles.

It has five cutting heights, so you can select the perfect cut for your lawn.

Easy installation, the mower comes with an installation DVD.

It has an anti-theft protection system with a secure pin number and alarm set-up. If the mower is lifted up, the alarm will sound, only entering the pin number will re-activate the mower.

Model number: 967645003.

Your experience is putting me off a bit..

If i bought a £400+ lawnmower, I'd definitely expect it to last longer than 3 years!

We bought a £17 handpush mower from Tesco about 5 years ago. Still going strong!
Larry works every day but for Monday @Tjl694 The guide recommends giving the lawn a rest. We start him at 7am as we like watching him trundle around.......

@adam_holcombe Agreed, Larry 1 is still working but when he gets really really wet he gets a bit confused and stops in the middle of lawn until he drys out again. Only recently started happening after 3 solid years. We used to pay £20 per week for a man to cut the lawn so Larry paid back in the first year..... Depends how you value your time / paying someone else. :-)

Same price on amazon and been that price for more than three weeks. So no need to panic buy, looks like it’s been that way for a while.

I don't have one either and to hear it only lasted 3 years is disappointing but I suppose if you're in the market for not cutting it yourself because you can't or have no interest in doing so - then how much would it be to pay someone to mow a lawn every week for 7 or 8 months in a year maybe for 3 years... personally I'd use the £400 to buy a good mower and hopefully get some change to keep it in petrol for a while

great purchase, had mine set up beginning of this year. Set to mow 3 times per week now down to 1. Garden looks perfect and the regular cutting keeps weeds away, and no cuttings :-)
@ec9wrr Amazon option is a reseller, personally I prefer direct Amazon (just my opinion), then Argos, then Amazon reseller just in case any customer service issues......

Good point. Also, with Argos you get 7 days to collect (and can change your mind). Whilst with amazon if you delay shipment you can only delay 5 / 6 absolute max days.

Mine (Rob1000) is set to run about 6 hours a day (7 days a week) (large lawn)... It's something I hadn't really considered when I was first looking at these.
It's virtually silent. Lawn is always immaculate although not striped, Useless to thieves as needs code and or serial number on the manual and alarm will sound as a deterrent.

Regularly mowing has resulted in my lawn being far healthier and saves me a couple of hours every weekend. Best gadget purchase I've made.
Best thing since Sky +
I was lucky enough to get one from Amazon Warehouse last year, £300 (packaging damaged).

How does it deal with walls, I guess you need to strim the edges still? Also what about flower beds how do you stop it trying to mow them too?
Great deal. We have two for the two sections of our garden. In the right garden they are brilliant. Super hot deal!

yes still need to trim the edges with a strimmer
I have this! I love it! Called it Mobot
However, I bought it from Amazon 3 years ago for £350... so not the cheapest ever at £400.
awesome: Originally meant "causing feelings of fear or wonder," but is used as a general, positive descriptor like "great" or "cool."
My neighbour had one of these lawnmowing android things, it pushed it's way in my house, attacked my dog and ate the good hallway carpet!!! 👎

Black Friday type deal wasn’t it? I remember attempting to justify that cost for a lawn mower. Sold out by the time I convinced myself and it’s never been that cheap since.

You're right Landroid S300 is better. I haven't been able to find it for under £500 though. Where have you been able to find it for £399 - I'd love to buy it for that price!

I emailed the official worx seller on eBay to see could they do me a deal at £399 and they replied within a few hours with 20% off and I bought it there and then. Having WiFi connection makes it so much better, I can send it out to mow anytime I want straight from my phone - which is useful this time of year when weather is unpredictable and a fixed schedule doesn't work too well

Fab - thanks. Will wait to see if eBay do a voucher round Black Friday time and try the offer to see if can get double discount.
Reminder to use QUIDCO if you do take the plunge, if it pays out ok you will get £20 cashback :-)
Not cheapest ever, I paid £362 in 2018. We named him Mr Echo (after the the character from Lost)
