was about to get your well found deal when i stumbled over these reviews, think ill leave it.

read the reviews on argos site, alot better. orderd thanks.

I think people use these for big, thick lawns. ideal 4 little ones really

I bought a cheap Flymo from Tesco last year. Motor burnt out during the 2nd cut lol. Bought a cheap Bosch strimmer instead and that did the job (have used it about 5 times to cut the grass) and is still going strong....so far!

If I was to buy another mower then it would need to have a motor cut-out on it to save from motor burn out or a petrol one.

cant go wrong for this price - just dont try and cut deep grass (keep on top of it ) and it will be ok

you can alter the cut height

id buy it but i have both already! alas after three years my mower has died this year though
fell apart really. strimmer is awesome and works fantastic! HOWEVER IF you do get this make sure you go and buy some strong thick blade for your mower. the replacemnts are ***** and flimsy. a little stone will bend it easy as paper!!!! then it sounds like its rattling apart! H + R added still.

I have one of these - and I am sorry to say that it is a bit rubbish - although mine has yet to burn out.

It is NOT a hover mower. If you look carefully, you will see that there is a little wheel on the front edge (that gets frequently blocked with grass) and you sort of roll it along. Needless to say, you get a rubbish cut - because that little wheel has flattened the grass before the mower rolls over it. I suspect that this was a late design change because this particular contraption hovers - as much as a bag of wet cement hovers - partly, I suspect, because the fit of the lid (that covers the grass box) is so bad (it looks flush in the photo - but mine has a half inch gap).

Also note, that there is a small hole at the bottom back left through which the mown grass is supposed to be sucked up into the grass box above - so that's a bit hit and miss - as is the box full "indicator" - which is basically a yellow ping pong ball under a clear plastic cover. This gets stuck so often - that I haven't worked yet if the appearance of the yellow ball indicates that the box is full or empty.

In short, if this is the best that Hover can do - then they should be ashamed. I am secretly hoping that mine will catch fire.

I still have one of these in the garage, pleased not to use it anymore.
I think that part of the problem is that although it somewhat hovers empty, once the grass start filling up the basket that is on top of the mower, it becomes much to heavy to hover, so you end up pushing a not-quite-hovering mower with a little mini wheel at the front. Not great really.

They might have a known name and somewhat look good but you are really better off with the cheapest wheeled electric mower from your favorite shop. For example, Argos has a couple of home brand electric wheeled lawnmower for less than £50.

The mini hover ones are OK for a very small garden. They are very maneuverable, arguably better than a wheeled one for this kind of job. E.g.

Thanks for the heads up yant and Creamola - I'll steer well clear of this deal.
