Just been sent an offer, limited to max one per customer of this mower at B&Q while stocks last from this saturday.

Had a quick check, and they go for £68 at B&Q usually and generally around £75 elsewhere and are rated 4.4 out of 5 on Argos.

After 2 broken flymos in 3 years, I won't go near them ever again no matter how cheap they try to flog them.
Treated myself to a Bosch rotak last year, and what a difference in performance and cut finish, I only wish I'd swapped sooner.

I am tempted, as just got this email too, but I have read poor feedback about Flymos as above

Hmmm

Just going to up,great mower at good price.

I have one of these

it doesNOT

hover it has to be dragged round the garde

Are these any good? Is it a real struggle to push these around the garden?

its not a struggle to push its

IMPOSSIBLE!!!

bought one last year....hovers ok but even on the shortest cut its not that short

I have one of these , its pretty good however you have to empty it a lot, so if you have a large garden I wouldn't get it tbh,

Exactly, similar experience to you. Flymo was totally pants and was significantly outdone by my Bosch Rotak when it got replaced last year. The Rotak makes the job a doddle in comparison.

Have to agree about flymo had one for a decade and it was brilliant until it finally died bought a replacement last year and the quality has nosedived. The build quality and sturdiness are like chalk and cheese with the newer one creaking and splitting after a couple of months use.

Don't touch it! I used to be a Flymo fan but wouldn't touch one now. My Bosch has taught me a great lesson!

My flymo previous model to this lasted 15 years - cut grass weekly in spring / summer.
New flymo (this model) purchased last month for around the same money as here, and first impressions are that it's almost identical to my last mower - i expect the same life out of this.

The Bosch Rotak 340ER Ergoflex is only £89 on special offer in B&Q, bought it last week and still haven't managed to get round to mowing the lawn yet

It's very small, designed only for small gardens - has a 30cm blade.

I got this before , my lawn it's bumpy, and is impossible to push that thing around garden!!

Brilliant lawn mower! my family has three of these, they have a metal blade and last for years.

Perhaps that's the case then cos I don't need one yet but my flymo must be at least 15 years old and still going strong.

Always the way isn't it. Bought a few weeks ago at £69 down from er £89 i think. Used twice and pleased with it. Cuts ok with minimum effort. Does what it says on the box. It cuts the grass. What more do you want. Tempted to get another one at that price. Ok so my thinking is a bit skewed but that's what hotukdeals does to you.

Can you buy one at the new lower price and then take back unopened, using the previous receipt?

If i hadn't put the box in the rubbish yesterday, i just might have the cheek to do that but boxes have labels so can'l use the new box at a different store and it might now be over 30 days. Bought at Homebase who matched B&Q's old price. Oh well. sods law ain't it. That's life i guess. Think you've got a bargain and then she costs you £50,000 in a divorce settlement. Luckily this is only £17

Nice avatar such a great series of games

Just picked one up in Doncaster, plenty of stock left!!

Just been to B&Q and was just about to buy one when one of the assistants told me that the 300V model (which is slightly better) was marked up at £68 but were actually selling at £52. The reason these are not advertised at £52 is because they want to push the 300 model first.

Just bought one and cut my lawn with it straight away. I had to fit the extra spacers to get it to cut the grass as short as I like - very simple to fit. It hovers and is very light to use. It cuts the grass neatly and folds instantly for storage. Build quality appears good. Grass collection is great if you are pushing it forwards, but when you pull it backwards it blows grass all around the place, this is because the collection shute is at the rear of the mower. Overall, it is worth £52.

Thanks for the info everyone! I was thinking of buying this mower but from reading the comments I am now pondering a Bosch instead! In case my local store is out of the 340 ER, is there a lot of difference between this diy.com/nav…277 and this? diy.com/nav…274

If there's an asda near you this same model is £50 in store. I'm going back today to get one!
