I really wish I had not bought a second hand one just a few weeks ago........

How much was the second one, as I need a new one was thinking of going 2nd hand but this does seem like a good deal, but I don't know what a good price for a lawn mower is??

order, thanks code work for me total charge,40:57....good found

Worked for me, but got a Wicker Bin i'd been looking for, Thanks

Check the amazon reviews - there's two 1 star reviews and two 2 star reviews. It's a typical cheapo Flymo. Better spending a bit extra on a Bosch or similar.

Does not look too bad really not for £40 and the cheapest it has been on amazon is £59

That's a large percentage of 1 and 2 star reviews - 21% is pretty bad.

I've got this mower. I plug it in, set the height, mow the grass, empty the collection box then put it back in the shed and look at my newly mowed lawn. It's not an award winning mower by any stretch but works and is worth more than 1 or 2 stars.

Bought this mower last year for a similar price from Argos.
Mowing wise it works fine, but the plastic wheels are attached to a steel rod that runs all the way through the mower then they have a metal type cap over the ends of them to hold the wheels onto the bar. The caps break very easy and when I rang the number on the mower they told me they weren't covered by warranty and I'd have to buy a whole new wheel to get the little cap at around £30!

The grass box was an absolute nightmare to put together as well

Needless to say I told them to stick it and instead attached a jubilee clip to stop the wheel from falling off.

Yeah, I dont like Flymo much.

i got one last summer, ive put it in the recycling bin where it belongs. As above wheels drop off, well they dont actualy turn anyway. I wouldnt even give it 1 star.

I remember now as well, I got a free mini strimmer with it and the strimmer cable assembly fell apart after the first use, waste of time

Just paid £25 for a Suffolk Punch.

Very happy bunny.

Electro ignition too.

can anyone post what is a good lawnmower?

That's a bit like asking for which is the best smartphone. It really depends on the size of your garden and what finish you are after and how long you want to mess about doing it. I've only got a small garden but got fed up of small lawnmowers blowing up so I looked at what size they recommended for my lawn and bought the next size up. I ended up with a Flymo 15" with a 1500 watt motor (not a wheely one). It cost £115 and is still going strong with no faults just needs regular cleaning. That was in 1986. I think they are cheaper now, cant comment on current quality though.

thanks my garden is not huge so i think this manual one will do but i think prices are inflated due to the season:

Qualcast Panther 30 Hand Powered Cylinder Lawnmower (30 cm Cutting Width)
£43 when the lowest it has been is £25 id certainly buy it at the £35 price range.

I'm in my sixth year with this mower now (or it's very nearest equivalent) and have not had a single problem. Very nice for the price.

my one's switch stopped working after a few uses. out of warranty

so bosh is a better make over flymo ? i need a mower for a fairly large garden, need it as cheep as pos but needs to be light and easy to use and last lol dont want much do i. not bothered about finishe of lawn etc

Just curious as to why you would buy a rotary lawn mower when this one is almost the same price? I have an earlier version of this lawnmower, I think this is its 4th year. Its fine, cuts the grass well and had no problems with it, and if I feel inclined I can get nice (ish) lines on my grass..

If I was being picky, I'd say I wish the grass collection box is a bit small, but it do have quite a long garden.

i have a flymo for the past three years and it has been working fine. no complaints other than me having to do the mowing and it doesnt mow the lawn by itself! so dont know what the other poor reviews are about.

Lol, it's probably a 'push on' or starlock washer, loads on Ebay.

I picked mine up on Saturday and used it on Sunday. Very happy with it. A bargain.

I just bought one of these. New house has small patches of lawn on 3 levels and the petrol one was too heavy. Hope its good, thanks for posting.

An old original Flymo was a fantastic mower, however Flymo sold out to Electrolux a while back and quality went through the floor.

If you can find a well cared for old Flymo, buy it.

I'm never going to buy a flymo again totol crap. Wheels falling off. Motors burning out difficault to replace motor brushes very poor quility star rating -6
