Battery life: up to 4 hours seems to really hold this back.

Otherwise it looks like a nice tablet though I would personally prefer 9 inch display over 7.85

Bought one last time it was on here for £85. It is surprisingly well built and the screen is great. The battery is pants though. I knew this when I bought it but I got it for a comic book reader. With the wifi and Bluetooth off it does ok, so with my comics on the sd card it's fine for maybe 4-6 hours.
Streaming a movie you will probably kill the battery with one movie.
Gaming will kill the battery in an hour at a guess.
Also have this tablet myself, managed to watch 2 movies (approx. 2 hours each) with battery remaining (from memory around a quarter or just under). Very well built and I was pretty surprised (in a good way) by the battery after reading feedback online and not expecting much. Maybe recent firmware updates have had an impact on battery life. Anyways, I've purchase another for a gift because it's nice little, well built tablet.
This is a fabulous little tablet so long as you have access to a charger for extended use (or battery pack).

The screen is a great size as it is squarer than the normal 16:9 ratio tablets. Colours and contrast are excellent, it's nippy and we'll put together. At this price...total bargain!!
How does this fair against an Amazon Kindle fire 8?
Great for the money.
But I don't think you would be disappointed with a Fire HD 8, especially given its £65(+£5 argos voucher making it £60) at the moment and you get a warranty, the screen isn't as good as the iFive, but the battery much better, swings and roundabouts.

Would be good for kiddies, not breaking the bank and decent storage/RAM/display Gave you heat
*Looks an amazing buy for the price, and a 3/2 top end screen at 8" is a decent size.
A battery pack might be needed for travel.

Screen is utter rubbish compared to this, though high resolution kills the battery.
Also note that though only 32bit, the RK3288 trounces the Fire's CPU and GPU, the 3288 being needed to run the screen at good speed.

But I guess a lot of people would just use it to browse, in that case the Fire would fulfill the role, Amazon just want you to buy stuff!!
