Great deal on Focals entry level floorstanders!
Normally £699.

Focal Chorus 714 V are the new version of the popular Focal 714 S, with improvements and speaker cone technology taken from their higher range speakers which combine to give stunning sound quality. These are simply stunning floorstanding speakers, featuring an effective 2 and half way configuration with each speaker working well in unison to produce a cohesive sound.

They feature excellent imaging when positioned well, allowing you to pick out instruments and other elements from where they were on the recording. They also have an uncanny ability to create a very realistic soundstage and have an extremely flat frequency response compared to most floorstanders in the sub £800 price range. This results in a transparent and neutral sound, which stacks up well against rivals costing over £1000.

Priced per Pair, Black Ash Finish.

Great price, they're a bit of a steal for 349!

If these are entry level at RRP £699... then I wonder how good enthusiast grade gear is.

These are great speakers, won a pair at the Bristol Hi-Fi show and upgraded to the Chorus 816V's (basically similar but very nice build and improved tweeters)

Similar audio quality to a really nice pair of mission speakers at a similar price but IMHO a nicer physical design. Well worth the asking price I think, good spot.

One of the best speaker deals on here for ages. Hot from me.

i am tempted but i still would like the b&w 683's :(.. plus there only black and no much reviews out there

Anyone know if these are any competition for the Q Acoustics 2050i?

You'd have to listen to them, but the Focal's should smash them. Really clean sound, accurate bass, and they're £349. There is nothing even comparable at that price.

Good with Blu-ray films or more geared towards music?

Would I be right in saying that these are not going to be high spec enough with a £2000 Pioneer amp?

I wonder if these are as good as my aging AE Aegis EvO floorstanders?

How would these compare to Monitor Audio Silver bookshelves?

Hi, I am Tim from Divine Audio and can confirm that the 714's are a couple of levels better than the 2050i's.

Any other colour than Black at this price Tim ?

Hi, I am Tim from Divine Audio. Our Pioneer LX86 drives these little beauties without issue and they work as well in cinema systems as they do with music. Think of Focal as a French B&W/KEF/Monitor Audio.

Hi, Tim from Divine Audio again. You will get a tighter, more modern sound out of the 714's than the original Acoustic Energy Evo's. They are a tonne better than the later generation Evo 3's.

Hi, Tim from Divine Audio. The 714's are equivalent in sound quality to the Monitor Audio RX6's (floorstanders).

Sorry, Focal have now sold out of the Wengi finish. The black arguably look more natural than the Wengi (think Fablon from 1976 and you get the picture). I hope I haven't offended anyone ;-)

Cheers Tim, can they be biwired too? The PDF from the manufacturer shows only one pair of terminals :-$

No bi-wiring on these speakers. As a general rule, a £10 single wired cable is better than a £10 bi-wired cable.

i already order the black.... i never saw wenge the other day on the site or i would have ordered them lol

Jeezus!

£10/m speaker cable? I'd use that for the doorbell Tim!
I don't think I'll move down from biwired Monitor Audio Silvers even WITH an extra driver and larger cabinets; I'd not mind hearing them but at that £700 I'd EXPECT to have the ability to biwire

Nice doorbell ;-)

You would not be moving down from Monitor Audio Silvers - you would be moving across (they are the same quality, though the MA's arguably look nicer). Bi wiring - don't see the point, now bi amping - that's a different story, again - you probably wouldn't do it on speakers at this price point.
