Part of me is tempted to vote this cold just because it's an ebuyer "fake brand" to fool people into thinking they are getting a German made / designed item.

I've not voted though.

Wow thats a funky brand name!

If I wanted a no-name cheap 32" LCD TV, I would get the Acustic solution from Argos for £249, cheaper, quicker to get, easier to return when it breaks down.

Btw, I've just checked, plenty of stock in my area (LS1)

It's the DSG 'Matsui' con.

I'm a bit peeved as I just paid £456 for a 32" Panny with a 5 year warranty from Costco but this is 200 squid cheaper.

Maybe a good deal but we have returned 3 of these tv's all lasted all of 24hrs...

Big problems with intermitant sound problems and one even went bang on us...

There are better tv's out there....

I wouldn't worry, you've probably got the best in it's class with 5 years warranty. You can't compare a Panny to a cheap tv.

What a load of waffle

Yeah, think you are right  judging by the AV forums but you can understand people being sucked in by this for the price.

Matsui are one of the biggest Japanese manufacturers, no? Very dry sense of humour you got in the second part there.

I always like the way they manage to get 1080p into the descriptions of TVs which quite clearly aren't, I bought a TV with a FULL HD-mi cable anyway.

For anybody looking to buy this, it's not 1080p. It will be 720p/1080i. Although on a size like 32" you would probably not notice the difference.

An alternative ]is this 'Sense' 32" on Ebuyer for £289.99 which has 142 mostly positive reviews. It apparantly has a Samsung panel but don't take my word for it.

The Japanese-sounding name (which also exists as a genuine surname in Japan was chosen as a device for fooling customers into believing the goods were made in Japan, since common perception at the time was that electronics from the Far East were of higher quality than European counterparts.

:whistling: I was just pulling your plonker  , I know Matsui is not really a proper Japanese brand the same as this Foehn & Hirsch is not a German one.
Anyway seems that this deal has gone cold anyway, my condolences to the op but don't let it put you off posting other stuff!
