To clarify: memory foam topped mattress. No obvious indication of memory foam layer depth, other than thin.

I have the non-memory foam version of this bed. It is very narrow but totally solid. My work around was to buy a single memory foam topper about 2 inches thick. It goes over the metalic rims and gives you a much softer mattress (on top of the one it somes with) plus 4 inches of width. It makes a huge difference. Its worth spending the extra £20 quid buying a topper for this. Other than that mines been going strong for over a year and its a very solid bed that I'd highly reccomend for camping trips and the occasional guest staying over
