It appears as £10, not £2.

I've just been to Tesco and there were loads for £2. I took a pic but am struggling to upload it!

Anyone know?

The dial is poorly marked, with no accurate graduations, except in 10lb steps, so if your tyre pressures should be say 33lbs, you are just going to have to guess, which is hardly ideal when by law, tyre pressures are supposed to be set accurately.

If you are that serious then my ignorance says you are probably right. If you are just needing to pump tires and enjoy finding a deal then welcome to my post.

I bought one last time they were on offer at this price. very poorly quality and didn't even work! took it straight back and got a refund

Cheap exercise for the fattys X)

These buckle very easy.

You should use a pressure gauge that's callibrated annually if you want to be that picky. Even on better pumps the gauges aren't necessarily going to be accurate to the pound, or 0.1 of a bar. As for by "law" tyre pressures can be varied due to loading, speed of vehicle, type of vehicle and type of surface. Show me a law that dictates specific pressures to be set at, accurately.

£2 seems a great deal, but they are crap. Had one for a while. Then I realised it never matched up to the coin-operated machines. Good for an emergency pump-up, but the gauge is about as reliable as an Egyptian election.

good for £2 bought mine for £8 a while ago. take no notice of the dial and takes forever to pump up 1 tyre

I've had this pump for a year or so.. dunno about lbs but i just use psi on it.. seems pretty accurate to me. Keep it in the boot too incase of needing in a spare tyre situation

Single barreled for "faster inflation" ?

Faster than a double barrel?

"Single barrelled for faster inflation"? If it had less barrels you wouldn't be inflating anything, so true - for a certain value of true :-D

Good price though, and ideal for bike tyres, lilos, balls and other inflatables if you don't want to do your car tyres.

Price is great but I am afraid the pump is next ti useless. I paid £5 @tesco and it is somewhere in the shed gathering dusts.

Had one of these and it broke on the 3rd use, £2 sounds a good deal for an in case of emergency. Not something to rely on. As has been said the gauge was about as accurate as not having one but I always use a separate gauge for accurate measurements.

Well it seems you can get fined up to £2500, and 3 points on your licence, for each tyre not inflated to the correct manufacturer's specification for the type of vehicle use, so if there is a legal punishment for an incorrect tyre pressure, there must be a law that states such an offence.

Quote
Running on under inflated tyres is not only illegal, attracting a £2500 fine and 3 Penalty points per tyre, but it also reduces the tyre life by around 50% and reduces your braking performance/fuel economy by 20%. It is therefore vital to check your tyre pressures regularly /Quote

Apology accepted.

Cold, because it's tesco, and because you used caps.

got one for £6 ages back - rattly, unstable, not very sturdy construction. dial still works (no idea how accurate it is) and it still does the job though. at this price bulkier but much better than a handpump IMO.
