Order it as you usually would on .co.uk
When you get to the end of the checkout it will be greyed out and you won't be able to complete the order (due to UK address)
Click on the billing address, bottom right
Find a valid zip code and city in the state of your choice that don't charge sales tax! (Alaska, Delaware, Oregon)
Make up the rest of the address and phone number
Complete the sale
DON'T click on Amazon's "Download Now" button. Wait for the steam code to be emailed to you or click on the "Product key only" link under the "Download Now" button.
Register code with Steam.
Pray that the UK government revises its massively lopsided extradition treaty with the US.

My bank knows I often frequent Beaverton, 97007 in Oregon.
- Your bank may charge you an overseas fee (usually £1.25)
- It activates on Steam.

Using the 'Add a Game' button on the bottom corner of the Steam client.
I have used tricks like this to get US prices at least 25 times before and have never had any issues from my bank.

I've done this loads of times with amazon.com's digital game download offers and have had no problems.
same here. I played CM2 alot around '98-'99 and back then it ate my life away. This game might be cheap, but guaranteed it'll cost you way much more money with the time you 'spend' or 'lose' playing this game.
ive just done this and you can either download it from amazon or it gives you the key for steam
Think Alaska is tax free to.

[edit] then again it's only £7.99 on steam....

True. I was charged £1.25 by Natwest for my last Amazon Digital download.
Still an amazing deal at £5.
If it gives you a Steam product code then it'll come with everything Steam has to offer. Won't be any different from buying through Steam itself.

Lol. Been using Steam for years and never thought to use that button
I always go to the toolbar: Games > Activate a product on Steam
Could be more hassle than the few pound saving is worth
Thanks, every other add I clicked on asked how to add a game!
Since it's already too late as I went through the purchase before reading your comment, what can I do to make sure this doesn't happen?
You get it straight away if you click for product key only, it is displayed by Amazon
Thanks, that's a relief!
Shouldn't the Steam key give you access to both versions?
I reckon so.
No mate card only
Bought one hell of a bargin! thanks
I am rather tempted
If not just get it gifted legally through UK steam, i'd do it for ya, costs a fiver and immediate receipt of it
