This is a great co-op strategy game, especially as a follow-up to Forbidden Island.

This is a fantastic co-op game. Pretty hard to beat, but still great fun trying! It's a pretty good one for folk who have never played a co-op boardgame before too.
I thought this was going to be full of chocolate and cream....
I have Forbidden Island and enjoy it. Anyone know if there is much point to getting this too? I mean I'm sure I'd enjoy it but is it more of the same or sufficiently different that I should get both.
This is a great co-op game but it can get pretty difficult pretty quickly if you don't manage things well!

It is similar, but it does have a little more depth to it than Island. Great post, Thank you.

Not played Island myself, but when I was looking at reviews before buying this, I'm sure this was deemed to be a lot harder to win and more challenging as a result. Other than that, they are very similar.

It is very similar but goes a little deeper than Forbidden Island, the mechanics are a tad different and it makes it more challenging to win. Which is part of the fun.
This or pandemic as an intro to co-op board games for the OH ?
Tabletop play Forbidden Desert:

(and Pandemic):

Either. Both are good games but the theme of pandemic and its expandability would make it my choice.

Add both to your games collection. They are different enough to gauge people's interest. But if you can only get one, I'd say Pandemic. It's easier to beat and there are a load of expansions (and the Legacy versions), so you've a lot more potential there.

I'd vote for pandemic. I think it's got an easier difficulty curve.
I think things in Forbidden Desert start piling up a lot quicker
saw this as Forbidden Dessert - was wondering what cake wasn’t allowed
