fixed the link... sorry folks

I always like the look of the 2.8 injection when I was young but I believe they had similar cornering characteristics to the QE2.

Depends how you drive them, a true drivers car for petrolheads all the fun of rear wheel drive when you have to think for the car and no killjoy computers assisting you.

dang i thought it said the car was on sale for chips! hehehe

I had a Mk1 which I think had a 1600cc engine and then I had a Mk2 that was a 2 litre - real good car this was.

great deal I had a 1969 mk1 and a couple of mk2's one of them was a 3000E that was bored out to make it a 3.1 great car.

not bad at cornering with a bag of sand in the boot.

Thanks OP cracking deal

Bought a RED 3.0S when I was 18, right bird puller

I never did drive a Capri. Had a couple of Cortina's but couldn't afford a Capri! Wish I'd tried one back in my youth! Ah happy days!

Perfect for my Dad's birthday next month - he owned both a MKII and a MKIII - the MKIII was a 3.0 Ghia Auto which he let me drive when I was 17 and not long passed my test - nearly totalled it on the first corner!

Ordered and voted HOT!

Cheers painreliever83.

It's not so much the cornering but the brakes that get me, you have to brake VERY early...

Looks like Bodie and Doyle !

I had a 2.0S in signal orange with brown recaro seats...cool

Someone round here has an Immac Brooklands. Lucky,B*****rd

lol i was always spinning my 2.0 lazer, great fun in the wet

Had a 2.0 Sport with the fishnet headrests. In black of course

One of them cars that you either loved or hated. The Brooklands was a beaut - loving that piccie by zermattbusby aswell!

What a find.... Thanks OP

Had 6 Capri's over the years... 4x 2.8i's 2 were specials (5 Speed)

One MK1 3 Litre and a RS 3100

Pics on Bebo lol

PS My MK1 Escorts were tops.... (Hint for the picture quiz lol)

I learnt to drive in a Mk II 1.6L and passed my test first time after 4 proper driving lessons in 1988. It had three engines while I owned it.

Then years later in about 1999 I bought an A reg 2.8i in black (identical to the picture further up) as I was now old enough to afford one. Sometimes it's best to leave the fantasy in your imagination as it weren't as good as I thought it would be. Sold it for £20 to a Ford spares place in the end after yet another MOT failure.

Fond memories of the 1.6 though with it's quick recline front seats. Very handy them...

Ahhh.........Del-Boy's "Pratmobile"!

The Audi Cock-Car of its day.........:p

Nice one...
I had two Capri's back in the late 70's and early 80's. The handling was abysmal on them, as all Capri's were infamous for, but the looks were spot on for the time and has become an iconic design for that era.
Have to get this DVD just to relive my early motoring days.
HOT.

Ordered for hubby for fathers day or birthday, depending on when it arrives! I don't mind as long as I don't have to sit through it!

My father was telling me about the times he would be driving on the motorway and the bonnet on his Capri would randomly fly open obscuring all vision. Not all that uncommon allegedly!

Fantastic cars though - still a good few kicking about today too.

Great just ordered one for my 21yr old son who has a nice bright red Capri.

Talk about pullin the chicks.... he just cruises around in this with his mates all of them wearing aviator sunglasses lol !!!!

:-D

Would be interesting if Ford brought this back from the dead proper ( ie not the probe / cougar types ) like vw's beetle / scirocco...gr8 find op / h/r added naturally...that pic of the black 2.8i wants me scouring through Auto Trader ! Oh and CI5...time to dig out The Professionals complete dvd box set and sit through them episodes all again !!! ( though did prefer Ray Doyle's white knight - Mk 2 Escort RS2000 in that ( with the classic fishnet headrests and 4 spoke allys of course ! )

Very hot deal. I used to occasionally drive the 2.8i's as part of my job. Fantastic in a straight line, apart from swaying so much you felt like you were on a pirate ship, but cornering? You never knew where you would end up. Sadly missed car though.

Cool... I owned 3 Capri's. Silver 1.6 Ghia, Nimbus Grey 2.0 Laser, Lacquer red 2.8 Special.

They certainly taught you how to use oversteer and I only ever buy rear wheel drive cars these days as they are so much more fun than front wheel drive:thumbsup:

You're are all showing your age now would you have been so excited if it was a Austin Maxi dvd ;-)

I had a 1985 2.8i Special - the limited slip diff helped the cornering - back end would just drift round corners - I used to drive round with the windows down just to listen to the great sound of the engine.....happy days

If you go to www.dukevideo.com/mcn you can also get the Joey Dunlop DVD for just £1.95 p&p should be £19 odd. Got both for £3.90 but had to do it in 2 seperate transactions.
