I called them and they said it was still valid. I just don't like jumping into something like this without lots of research! (Probably like everyone on here!)

i drove one of these as a hire car in october - i got an average of 45 mpg if memory serves. ok, i didnt tend to go over 70mph but most of the miles i did cover were a roads at around 55mph...

it was lovely to drive; nippy and responsive around town and good handling.

No Air Con ??

Judging by the pic on the website of the heater controls, there is no air con switch or heated front screen switch, probably fair to assume neither are fitted as standard

Good price though - heat added !!

If only I had the cash On a side note had my license exactly 5 years today.

Forget paying extra for metalic paint, get it in white, looks mint. and save £400 or however much it is these days

It might look like a polo but it will show up every speck of dust and dirt. Also a nightmare to sell on because people can get a better colour for next to nil premium.

poverty spec

Ford do great finance options on new cars, My partner has the Fiesta Zetec, in Midnight Sky colour, 2011 model and pays £142 a month, the style and lower models have hardly any extras, the Titanium and Zetec are the better models.

I never see the point in buying a brand new poverty spec car, even at a discount, when a similary priced 2 year old approved used model will come in zetec trim with air con, alloys etc

Hell my 10 year old Focus has far more kit than this Fiesta

but it doesn't have 3 years warranty.

Spot on! I totally agree, waste of money. I would expect Cd player, alloys and basic air con as standard in most new cars

Tbh its better to go for german cars!! Volkswaggan, Audis etc etc.

Allthough brand new they cost, second hand can be a tad cheaper than buying a new ford which will obs come with warrenty etc etc!

Then again you do get what you pay for!

I drive a VAG car now, and judging by the comments on the various forums I visit the latest German quality is starting to lag behind Ford. I would have no issue with paying for Ford.

Still wouldn't buy new though, I'd rather forego the warranty in lieu of better spec second hand.

check out the skoda deal posted earlier. Larger engine,0% interest for extra £400 new car!!

This is an icy deal.

Cracking little car, I bought a 2 year old one a few months ago for the same price but in fairness that was for a 1.4l, 5 door with the Titanium trim.

Heat for the deal itself as when I was looking this model was £9,495 new so it is a good deal however I wouldn't advise anyone to take it up as The spec means that the resale value will be poor.

I also would advise that if you're going for the 1.25l engine that you look for the 82ps model instead of the 60 ps which this is as it will give you more torque and feel a lot more powerful despite the being the same size of engine. This will also provide a greater resale value.

If I was buying brand new I would look for a 1.25l (82ps), 5 door with Zetec trim. You should be able to get that model for maybe £10k at this time of year.

And spends triple the amount on parts when it goes wrong.

I'm not sure 8 grand for the style trim is particularly good overall value.

1.25 Zetec is definitely the way to go, and you can get that for 9,995 (at fordretailonline, and its even cheaper at drive the deal!). Higher trims obviously attract higher discounts - I think it was possible to get the Metal trim for under 12 grand, which was almost 4 grand off the list price!

If only !

Great car, hot deal,
but if you are only keeping it for 2 or 3 years, probably better going Zetec, re-sale (or GMFV) is much better, and a nicer car (heated screen, alloys, leather wheel, better seats, 82ps, chrome trim).
That's what we ended up doing for the wife, 5 door for £10k).

Ive been looking at these at stoneacre. i really want the metal version though they look amazing for £14.500... worth checking stoneacre out though they had £1500-2000 off most brand new fiestas when i looked the other day. Was told theyre making a small loss of them to get people through the doors. Hope you find 1.

May be a fairly basic car but that's a good price.

Kia rio can be had for around the same price, comes with more kit as standard as quality is a million times better than a ford. Plus decent warranty also upto 88mpg....

Fiat Panda, from £5.959, well built all rounder. Despite the fiat badge, a very high quality car (for the price)

Chevrolet spark from £5,495 - Nothing good to say about that apart from it comes with aircon and mp3 as standard

Voting hot for the price, but i'd never recommend anyone ever to buy a ford, I work as a valeter and the build quality is just shocking, for me comparable to the lower end Citroens, which are truly shocking, but at least the price reflects that.

I'd recommend anyone here that wants to buy a new ford, check out the kia's first, and skoda's, both very high quality cars but people assume the worst purely for the badge name. Theres a reason kia do a 7 year warranty!

Finance quoted is pants, anything over 18 mils per day effectively and you're charged 6p per mile excess mileage, find your own loan, but then be prepared to pay extra for the car.

I always think of a warranty as they will fix it when it goes wrong, not they have faith that their car is better than any other...

That will only be a problem if you give the car back and don't want to make the final payment.

Qazim, I would like to inform you that these Fiestas, just like the model before them, are made in a German factory. Therefore, a german car.

Defo no air con on this model, it is not that basic, to be honest I think the AC is the only main thing you will miss from the zetec.

Got the Ford Fiesta Edge at our local Ford dealer (£8,995 on dagenham) for £7,800 last summer, great car. They had a "small car sale" and had i think 3 or 4 for £7,500 ish in solid paint and 5 ish for £7,800 in metallic colours. :-) but this is still a good deal

You may PREFER VAG but their reliability is only mid table, similar to Ford's, and repair costs are way higher. Please don't offer personal opinion as fact - it isn't.

I think just about every dealer has a "sale" on just now. I would also look at demonstrators from dealers, you get some cracking deals that way.

very good deal but pay a grand more and get the fabia with air con, alloys, 1.4 engine (12 sec to 60 instead of almost 17 for the fiesta) and will hold its value better. Plus 0% finance

I have recently hired both a fiesta and a new polo and i dont rate the polo at all
If you are in the market for a new car go and hire one first for a few days or a week dont just go on a 10 minute test drive and buy it .
I had a polo for a week for just over £90 and it was the best £90 i have ever spent as it saved me £10k plus buying a car i thought i would like but at in the end was glad to give it back.

My brother has the fiesta and rates it his is a zetec with bluetooth etc.
