My wife may have been dreaming about this deal last night.

I'm sure I heard her screaming out, FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS.
Just under £186 for 10k pa. Seen mid range Fiestas for similar price. HOT.

I have a 4 year old focus which is all paid off. Caught my hubby looking at new cars the other day. Hope he doesn't check on here tonight after work as this will catch his eye.
Mind your alloys don't get knicked!
wish is was the petrol version

Same! I'd have snapped their hand off! Shame it isn't as the car is the same price!

Well then it would probably be ST-D! X)
Cold you could buy a nice ten years old car for less than this and still have enough left for fish and chips supper.
i don't get it, £5200/24=£216?

then add another £9 a month for 10k miles and then admin fee on top too, probably another £20 on top combined, making it around £236?

I think the point they're trying to make is that it isn't a £27k car for £162 per month as you've said in the OP. It's actually about £225 per month amortised when you take into account the deposit, monthly payments and admin fee.

More like £256 per month amortised.
Well over £6k for 10k miles so not that exciting

The point here is you get 2 years in a brand new Ford Focus ST3 for £5183. If you bought the same car you would lose a lot more than that in depreciation and would pay much higher monthly premiums with the same deposit
Cold could get a decent focus for this price and keep it.

STI or STD..either way a sexually transmitted infection which the Ford fanboys are well familiar with!

It's a good deal, I'm not questioning that. And don't get me started on the benefits of leasing, I'm a serial leaser.

The point I was making is that people often look at the headline monthly rentals and don't factor in the deposit and admin fee into the true monthly cost.

Your definition of a decent focus is vastly different to mine!

I'm borderline! Red with the black style pack, I'll sleep on it but I'm very tempted!
Great car, I've got one BUT if the lease is with ADL automotive do not go with it. They're abysmal. Awful customer service. Had mine 1 year. It was delivered 3 weeks late, broke 3 times, been over charged several times by direct debit (they took the full lease payment once) and today had it back from servicing and they've scratched it and are refusing to fix it. Had several colleagues with similar experiences of ADL.
Great deal otherwise
Can't get past page 3 of 4 employer information is blank
Says the initial payment is £1,657?
Watch out... Initial payment +£200 when you go to 10,000 miles

Do you mean ALD? and they are just the financing company they do not do the servicing etc that is the dealership you take it.
Can anyone tell me what happens if I lease something as self employed. Will be starting as GP partner in August - can I set this off against tax. Essentially using a real example I want to know how much I will pay as I can't figure it out. Many thanks

I don't think you would be able to.

Not a valid comparison as I'm a vegetarian.
All these lease deals are only any good if you want to park a nice car in your drive and never use it. For those of us who actually drive these deals are rubbish.

Yeah they do typically seem to be low mileage deals unfortunately...
definitely hot. wish it's an auto. definitely worth it as you loose less than depreciation.
Was all over this until I noticed the deposit, not clear at first

Yeah, apart from perhaps the DD problem (which you haven't made very clear) all other issues are the dealer/vehicle, not ALD.
ezzer72

'Thanks' for the PM, but it doesn't change my opinion any. VW TDi's are awful engines with more inherent faults than anything else on the planet.

It may have been 'tuned' to have a decent power output across a very narrow revs band, but it is probably only running right for half an hour on the 3rd Thursday of every month.

The Focus will be a far, far superior experience.
