This looks like a top bargain for what it's equipped with. It perhaps is a bit of a parts bin special with the odd mix of 105 and Tiagra (only the front mech) but looks to be unsurpassed for the price.

For those who don't know, Cyclocross bikes are the ones that go past you while you're lumbering around on your silly overgrown BMX ("Mountain bike"). You could also use it for winter commuting if you're not into humiliating "mountain" bikers.

Who needs suspension? Wrists last at least 25 years and by the time they wear out you'll get them replaced for free.

Specs:-

Lightweight and sturdy double-butted aluminium frame
• Carbon fork
• 20-speed Shimano 105 groupset
• BB5 Road Platinum disc brakes
• Versatile all rounder - perfect for tackling muddy, wet, sloppy terrain
• Commuter ready, with rack and mudguard mounts

Only available in one size now though.

Well, for your information, not all of us want to knacker our wrists!!! Anyway, they are built for different things. Mountain bikes are for trails, cross bikes are generally for very light trails. I doubt you could ride a cross bike on a red trail or downhill. even if you could, try doing enduro on one. Doubt it'd be very comfortable.
although, for those who go down country lanes with a full suspension bike then I probably would say go for a cross bike. I wouldn't say it is a winter bike since most people wouldn't spend this much on a winter bike. I'd rather invest in a good turbo trainer for the winter and just get maybe ancold bike for winter. it should be known though that although you can use this on the road if you change the tires, it isn't the lightest thing and the geometry isn't suited for road racing.
however, in response to the uploader, MTBs have their places. you can't just ditch them.

Looks awesome for the money Cyclo-cross bikes also make great occasional touring bikes too, so this could easily do you as a commuter, winter bike, bit of off roading at the weekend, plus the summer touring holiday. Lots of bike and usability for the money. If only I didn't already have 6 bikes...

not bad, if you've missed out don't worry this one is sub 10 kilos and customisable, also available in all sizes. Sensa is a great brand too, been making bikes for 20+ years in Holland. merlincycles.com/sen…tml

Using a cyclocross on typical mtb trails would be like riding a speedboat down some rapids.

I looked at this bike before, seems good value for money. It has been this price for months, but heat added

I enjoyed the description even if others don't get irony.

By holding them up on the downhill? While you teetered your way down?
