Out of curiosity how do you know this??

Had a tenant who used nothing but this Formil and used on high temps is probably fine, but he only ever used 30 and 40 degree washes which never really was hot enough, it then clogged all the pipework at the back of the machine and 2 years later ended up having to jet the main downpipe because of all the gunk it left behind, very nasty stuff, told him he couldn't use the cheaper detergents anymore or we would bill him for the jetting and dyno to the drains, he then used Persil from then on and all pipes clean as a whistle even at 30 degree cool washes..

You get what you pay for with washing detergents ....You'll pay more in the end if you use this rubbish!

Is this nationwide

Weekend offer nationwide

Also applies to the non-bio version if you prefer that one. The quality seems decent enough, gets clothes clean, and anything less than 5p per wash is very rare.

This is really nasty stuff and clogs all your pipes and drains up over time, you have been warned!

If you can buy bulk, it works out cheaper if you get a 3l bottle for £2.99 (= 99.7p/l.) Which is the normal 3l bottle price.

This size is 630ml for 99p.

Only thing is you can't get non-bio in a 3l bottle.

I tried this but gave it away, just didn't have the cleaning power or freshness of other budget cleaners. The 2 in 1 stuff is better if you can find it.

Been using Enrituals Laundry Wash from Tesco for the last few years. £1 for 28 washes. Cannot fault it. No problem taking out stains and no problem with washing machine.

Can I ask what you use? Looking for a decent detergent to use

works fine this stuff, started using it over daz which seems to just constantly bleach clothes.

Thinking those having issues are you placing it in drum or drawer we do the former no issues yet

The Aldi detergent is fine. It works really well as other people have said.

Depends what level of performance you need from it as well. For the most part, my detergent never needs to remove any visible stains. It's at the most a bit of sweat from wearing an office shirt for a day, so I'm sure even the lowest power clean would be just fine. Someone who plays rugby for example would of course have very different needs.

Crazylegs seems to hate formil he has posted on previous threads with the same rubbish, he needs to make his mind up last time he said it was formil liquid wash that blocked drains now he is saying it's the formil gel that caused it. Like others have stated their are different instructions for different versions the green formil liquid must be put in the draw whilst the the formil gel in this deal must always be put in the dosing cup and then inside the drum. Part of me thinks has this person bothered to clean their washing machine which can become clogged up or smell if you don't do a maintenance cycle (60 or 90 degrees with either washing machine cleaner or bleach).

worth noting that liquids are notorious for gunking up machines and pipework. They don't clear out of the system fully. I've read that it is recommended to try and alternate your washes between liquid and powder if possible. Powder washes, and in particular high temp powder washes, are good for cleaning the gunk from your machine and pipes, not to mention cleaning your clothes.

oh, and if running a maintenance cycle, run it with white vinegar, not bleach. I wouldn't want to go putting my clothes into a machine that had just been run through with bleach. No matter how many times you had rinsed it out.

The best stuff I have found is dettol washing machine cleaner. People have an assumption that washing machines must be clean because they clean your clothing this wrong. You can tell if you have a problem just from looking inside the door seal and seeing a build up of black mold. I don't use bleach myself but many washing machine manuals do mention using this during a maintenance wash/tub clean cycle.
