I didn't think they were allowed to do this, or is that stage 1 only?

I thought the same but it's stage 1. I was surprised to see stage 2 on offer.

In-store promotion of follow-on formula and milks for older babies is not prohibited by the law
Whats the point in follow on Milk anyway? Surely after stage 1 you use cows milk?
p.s. Second baby due any day now! Eeek!!

It contains more nutritional content than cows milk.

Look at the ingredients. Take care.

The 'promotion' of stage 1 'newborn' breast milk substitutes is prohibited by law. This does not affect normal price changes but it can never be on "offer". It's also forbidden in the same law to reduce stage 1 milk. For example reducing stage 1 milk to clear as the use by date is approaching. Tesco got prosecuted for that a few years back.

It's stage 1 0-6mth stage 2 6-12mth and then 3 after 1(that's when you can use cows milk)
Midwife told us stage 1 sufficient rest are just marketing ploys

Having got a 14 week old daughter we have tried and tested numerous brands. Lidl's is good but Aldi is better. Aldi's have a wet indicator Lidl don't.
Spoken to our health visitor and they said after stage 1 formula then follow on milk isn't necessarily.

Well I have to confess when my last two were born I used Aldi and you are right they have an indicator. I used Aldi without thinking twice as I found them amazing with my second. I found with my last one when he was around 5 MTH he kept leaking so I swapped to Lidl and a larger size and did the trick. I would never buy pampers firstly because of ethical reasons and second the price lol.

On the box it states stage one is up to 6 MTH and so you need stage 2 until 12th? You can't give cows milk before 12 MTH? Or has something changed

That's interested to know. Just discovered that as part of lidl's rebranding of their nappies etc they have introduced a wetness indicator. Must have been the fact that Aldi includes it and they are both around the same price.

Not sure yet as my daughter is only 14 weeks old. Is stage 2 more expensive than stage 1 formula?

Nope don't think so. This is the first time I've seen a stage 2 on offer.

Well whatever they are doing it's not really working given the proportion of mums that do breast feed.
