What’s the difference between this and normal forza 6

The Forza Horizon games have more of an arcade style handling and game-play, as opposed to a more simulated racing experience found in the regular Forza Motorsport games. The Horizon games are also open world based, so you can progress the main driving campaign by picking what event you want to do next. This is done simply by driving to an events location on your map.

Both formats are good in their own rights, so I guess it depends what style you prefer (arcade or serious). Forza Horizon 2 is a great game and super fun in my opinion.

Awesome game (1, 2 and 3)

the horizon games are the only racing games I can get into as I'm not usually into racers. Decent price.

I'm currently playing through Forza Horizon 3 which I love (it's the game that convinced me I needed an Xbox to sit along side my PS4 having owned nothing but PlayStations since the first one came out). Is this still worth picking up or is the step back from 3 too great?

Sometimes if you play games in order they're all great games, but other times if you come into a series too late it's too hard to go back because the early games aren't as polished or they miss features you've grown to rely on

Personally, I preferred 2 over 3. The polished game play remains equally as good and rest assured it's certainly not a step backwards. If you like FH3, you'll no doubt have a blast with FH2 which although similar, is staged in a Mediterranean part of Europe. It's a beautiful place to be driving around in!

I preferred the Mediterranean setting in 2. It's not a step back at all, if you like 3 you'll also like 2.

I was in a similar situation to you, only bought an Xbox one for Forza games, horizon 2 is brilliant, infact I probably prefer it to 3.

Thanks for the replies, but...

COULD YOU ALL STOP MAKING ME SPEND MY MONEY!

The horizon games are fun as hell if you take them for what they are in terms of handling physics if you're playing with a wheel. Don't expect Assetto levels of feel or even Forza 6 levels of feel. I found the games are actually easier to play on the joypad, even on 'sim' steering which isn't how it should be if you've got a wheel. Drifting is really easy on joypad but it's nothing like the Assetto experience as there's no caster angle effect in Horizon so you can't just throw the wheel and catch like you can on other sims.

It's a great setting in Horizon 2 though, really scenic and with a great car selection. I can now happily crash the cars of my youth and drive like a tw't without consequence!

One day the perfect game will come out. Project Cars graphics, Forza selected car list, a GT level of cars, Assetto Corsa or LFS handling with tracks or if you want, virtual roads like Horizon.

Cheers manged to bag one....
