The game in Singapore money is probably $70 which is the £39 cost for us.

Link?
Is that a code for the game or an account which has access to the game?

Careful with the cheap digital copies on eBay. I'm seeing most of them are selling access to an account with the game on, rather than the game itself. If that account gets banned/details changed etc you've lost access to it.

Haven't seen one cheap digital copy that's legit.

The game is owned by that other account. If that other account is closed/details changed etc then you'll no longer be able to play.

You spent X amount to not own the game.

did you have to set your xbox as the home xbox for that account? if so does that mean if you buy a different game using this method that for a will stop working? (because you will have to change the account for the home xbox)

I understand the account closed but what do you mean by 'details changed etc.' why would that stop the game from working?

Can you not change the account details so they can't take it back?

If you decide to go down that route it would be the sensible thing to do, though it won't offer you any protection if the product is later withdrawn by MS due to card fraud. I'm surprised eBay still allow these listings.

I wouldn't advise it. the seller will surely have their own email in the security settings. so if someone changes the password, they will be emailed. they can then change it to something else locking you out in the process.

By details changed I mean if the person changes the login details, or has their account closed for whatever reason. Most companies don't allow account selling (which this essentially is), and if they find out they'll usually disable that account.

You could technically I suppose change the password details yourself, including backup email, however as the description on the eBay pages states you're being access to, and not ownership of, said accounts, it's likely the real owner will initiate recovery, and you can do that even with all your details being removed from an account by simply calling Microsoft and confirming payment history etc.

Something that's also worth mentioning with these accounts. In the murky world you can buy premium Spotify/Netflix etc accounts for £5, but these have been hacked. You're essentially buying access to someone else's premium account. I've also seen this with Xbox accounts with lots of games. But access rarely lasts long because Microsoft etc are pretty good at detecting suspicious activity.

For the sake of a few quid I'd much rather own the disc/digital copy; because if you do lose access to the account, what will you do? It's not like these sellers are big shops you can raise a complaint against.

But once you have downloaded the game to your console you can then delete the other account off there so would it matter the other person changes their logon details? I'm not thinking of doing it myself as I now have 2 Xbones in the same house anyway so share games between the 2 but was just wondering.

I agree fully that it's not worth the risk just for a slightly lower price. But, it's good to know the specifics of why it's so risky, so thanks.

For Xbox Home sharing to work, you have to sign in on the other account on your own Xbox. That means you need the username and password of that other account. If that other account then changes its login details your Xbox will no longer have it signed in, which will stop any games shared from that other account from working.

I have two Xboxes, one for me and one for my son, and each has its own Gold account. I changed the password on the main account I buy all the games on and the other Xbox wouldn't play the games afterwards. It didn't happen immediately; there must be some kind of validation check every now and then. Similar to Netflix; you can change your password, but the app on your tablet still logs in and works, until a validation check upon which it's locked out.

This may never happen of course, you can buy a cheap copy of a game, share the account and alls well in the world. I'm just pointing out the risks of doing this.

A quick Google shows that the general concensus on this is that it's a scam, one thread as an example: community.ebay.co.uk/t5/…464

Unfortunately it's not classed as counterfeit so doesn't look to be a breach of eBay's rules.

I'm going to contact Microsoft and ask them if this is a breach of their EULA; will report back when I get an answer.

I thought that the oth

not sure then, I was going off what post no. 10 was saying. Like I said I game share with my son who lives in the same house and we leave each others profiles on so each of us can use either console.

After reading a few threads on the Ebay forum most of these games will cease to work in a few weeks and as you wont be covered by EBay's protection due to it being a digital item you'll be out of pocket.

Although expensive this is still the best price for the PC version. Though admittedly I'm a little underwhelmed after all the positive reviews and slightly regret spending £44 on it.

It's decent enough (aside from the horrors of the Windows Store and useless download client), but I expected brilliance after all the glowing reviews. Surprisingly the visuals are one of the disappointments, it's not that good looking even in 2160p. Apex was impressive yet Horizon just seems a little washed out and barren.

I *think* a buyer on eBay is classed as a third party, as they don't have a connection to the seller other than in the transaction. Whereas providing access to a family member or friend etc wouldn't class them as a third party. Not 100% on this; would need a more concrete answer from Xbox to confirm.

That's what concerns me, I have the previous two Horizon games and while I liked just driving about in the open environment using the Forza engine I didn't find the racing to be that good particularly the fairly dull race and championship design (PGR really put it to shame) . That was fine after waiting a few months and getting the disc cheap but the digital version which isn't likely to drop in price any time soon is tempting to have the PC version as well.
