On sale at Amazon, with Prime delivery available. Great quality camera. Been using one to monitor the front of my house for a year or so, connected via my Synology NAS. Lovely wide angle view and excellent quality image during the day or night. Going back for another at this price.

STOCK UPDATE:

Just to add that Foscam have messaged me to say that they had 700 pcs going to Amazon (plus another 100), for some reason only 380pcs were booked in and they are awaiting the other 320pcs which should hopefully be the next day or so, as well as the additional 100.

They didn't expect to sell 380pcs in less than 24 hours! Great work HUKD!

Mine does the job for my purposes at night, but having an outside light helps.
It triggers if the outside light comes on:

However, this is how it looks when the outside light goes off since the IR won't work through the glass:

are the drivers there on synology NAS, and works ok with ds cam app? save motion on sinology rather than the foscam cloud?

Love how this is #1 in 'spy cameras' on Amazon. The secret agent in me really wants to get one

I use Surveillance Station on mine, so yes, it records motion directly to the NAS and I use the Synology DSCam app to view when away from the house. You can use the Foscam app if you prefer - I only used that for initial setup. It can use ONVIF, so simple to add to the NAS.
can I use this to record and store the video on my network PC instead or in addition to the onboard storage?
Did they patch the security flaws found in Foscam ip cameras?

Yes.

"We've conducted a thorough review and fixed all issues with firmware upgrades where necessary," the company said in an emailed statement. "The 18 items cited in the report were actually so minor in nature as to be virtually non-existent. ... There were therefore zero reports of any security breaches ever occurring in any products used by customers, due to the extremely improbable nature of the exploits."

Always make sure you're internet connected devices have up-to-date firmware and change any default logins where possible.

Yes. It supports FTP and other protocols, so depending on what software you want to use on the PC, it will likely work with it.
I haven't got a NAS or a local online PC, can I still use the Push notifications etc, or do I have to have a cloud account from these people?

Yes, I have some Foscam cameras like R2 FI9900P and they all support record to PC and SD card, just wonder to buy a new C1
Thanks OP.
I have one running back to my Synology NAS as well.
Once you change to ONVIF as mentioned above it works fine.
Ordered another 2 at that price.

Lots of ways to work around it, ranging from using the inbuilt email server to a combination of alternative camera apps, other cloud storage and Tasker depending on what you want to achieve.

You don't need use their cloud.

sounds good , I tried to setup an FTP to my PC using my R7500 netgear router (so I could access the files anywhere) but seems I cant based on my IP address. I assume I can create a local FTP server somehow using the necessary software. recommend any?
Thanks OP, seems a good product and good price, have ordered. Can you please comment on the wireless aspect, is it straightforward to setup, saw a review on Amazon where someone complaining it weren't wireless.

You should be able to setup FTP using this guide: kb.netgear.com/238…ter - a non-static IP address shouldn't matter since it uses Dynamic DNS.

Set the camera to send snapshots or recordings using this to the USB attached to the router. Then use ReadyCLOUD to access the files from anywhere: readycloud.netgear.com/cli…tml

I found it easy to setup and connect. I am an ageing IT manager, but it's pretty straightforward. You can use their new fangled app thingy
I don't get the difference between this and something like a Foscam FI9821P 720P, which is £80? Is it just the fact that the latter can move and change viewing direction??

Like any of these cameras you'd need to turn the led night lights off or you'll just get glare reflected off the glass.
Well the IR night vision won’t work through the windows so not good for night.
Wansview equivalent is the same price and better rated on Amazon.

Doesn't have two way audio or a network cable port though.

The Foscam also claims PIR motion detection. I'll be interested to see how well that works.

Those images look good enough to me, have you turned off the LEDs is this independent of the IR cut?

Get a good outside night light (motion triggered) and disable the IR night vision on the camera. Should work?

I have the indicator LED's off, but IR on if I recall. We're quite rural so there's no street lighting, but with street lighting I'd imagine the image would be pretty good. Both images are in complete darkness. In the top right of the image, you can see a little IR reflection.

isn't this a better …isn't this a better deal?https://www.amazon.co.uk/M-Way-Wireless-Wide-Angle-Surveillance-Detection/dp/B071CYD651/ref=zg_bs_1330831031_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=6RV5BHQ6DDFMS6Z89R8D960p vs. 720?

Looks like another rebranded, generic camera. Each to their own. I personally prefer a brand that I know and have used many times such as Foscam. A few more (claimed - the specs are contradictory - 960P (1280*720)) vertical pixels won't make it a better camera.

If you find that one better design and quality for your needs, then go for it.
I think everyone should invest in one of them since the burglaries increasing. Don't know who to blame.
Can't recommended CCTV enough. I have one aimed at our back passage and it actually caught someone trying to break in, in the middle of the night!

Turned out they were on parole when we showed the footage to police and were quickly recalled back to prison.

True story.
This has turned into an incredibly interesting thread.

How do people power these things?
There are a lot of discussions online about motion detection not working, i.e. foscam.us/for…tml

I was thinking about using this indoors solely to detect any motion - has anyone experience of the motion detection (not heat detection) not working and if the latest firmware is a bust like people are saying online, or has it fixed the problems?

I can't personally comment on that since I use my software to do the detection. Never had a single issue. Motion detection works perfectly through my glass porch.
Showing £56.99 for me?
