If your TV has a web browser, then most probably.

madz24

can i use this with my tv?

unless it has some sort of a browser built in, no

640 x 480 @ 15fps gets a no buy from me.

I did watch a review on youtube and it's a pretty fine product other than the low resolution and terrible speed. Damn shame really.

You could if you bought a chromecast dongle by Google. You just slap that into a HDMI socket on your TV and anything in your browser can be sent to it. So you'd have it setup on your PC, tablet or whatever you connect to the internet with and then send it to chromecast when you want to see it on the TV. The processing of the video signal will then be handled by the chromecast so it frees up your tablet or PC for other things.

Not the best solution I know but quite neat and the Chromecast is really cheap.

Depends what you want it for, for a baby monitor it's fine with suitable app/tablet.

Night vision is good too.

Can I assume night vision for outside only works if the camera is mounted outside?

This is an indoor camera night vision is good in doors . If you have it pointing outside it will give reflection on glass in day and be UN viewable at night. You can turn off the Ir lights so if you had a strong external light you would see but if you want a Cam for outdoor, I'd advise against this and gather an appropriately ip rated outdoor camera.

Do you think this would be ok if installed under a front door porch or do you think it will it condensate to much?

Good deal, just bought 2.

Or get a rikomagik android dongle and ip cam app by Robert Choi ,works a treat on my tv

These are the cams that are open for the whole internet to watch right?

I have 4 of these so in a position to comment. firstly be very very goddam careful updating the firmware as get it wrong and you will brick the unit. I did that twice. ir is no use just glare from glass. blueiris is excellent and worth buying as well.

I have 4

Is this 0.3mp?

Or 3.0mp?

Camera phones are now capable of 8-12mp.

Is there a security camera capable of 8+mp that is below £200?

= if my neigbours' dog **** outside my door again and fails to clean it up and I have video proof, I will bleed it halal style (owner, not the dog).

yes. you would need to open some ports on your router. not difficult

I've got one similar set up in my dog kennel. Can keep an eye on them when out for the day.

there is no y mirror facility so you cannot hang these upside down.

its pretty rough image quality.

has audio support. for listening. their baby monitor version was the one that got hacked and some wierdos voice came out of their cam.

This seem good for the price. I got the more expensive Ucam247HDO which is HD (@720) plus invested in a 2TB NAS drive - I can record around tween10 and 28 days of footage (depending on frame rate). The cam is literally plug and play, you get free remote viewing (from Android/ iPhone)... Bob's your uncle and Fanny's your aunt!!

Play.com have a wireless IP cam for £35

I have one, its always on and looking at the front door (if its anyone else but the postman I don't answer it)
we get so much door to door here... so never have to leave my office chair.

want to record it to my NAS HP microserver but not worked it out yet.

Are you sure, I have the older model and it has a mirror option.

Good deal from ebuyer. NEVER purchase this from foscam's uk website. I made that mistake and have found them to be incredibly rude and unprofessional. They ignored my emails to their customer support, didn't even send a receipt by email or paper for the purchase. They make a sale and don't give a damn. Real greedy pigs. Don't support foscam uk's greed and poor service.

great deal ,thanks for posting.
Also ordered another item for £10 the get free delivery.

got this from ebay 2 weeks ago. Really happy with it.

Only those that didn't set a password.
It's blank as standard so people who didn't add one were vulnerable go people who worked out some of the ddns details and the port,

If you change your user name and password , use a non standard port, it would be a determined hacker who got in

Yup there is a mirror option on the web browser, not sure does the app though?

Unless you mount it from a from a far distance this will be fine for what you require.

I don't know the market very well at all. Quite new to these but fancy one with a decent picture. A quick search got me....

If you don't care about the resolution there's a model like this

IP webcam Internet CCTV camera infrated Nightview WiFi Wireless Pan Tilt IR black for £33 at Amazon inc delivery.

If you want to step up to HD video then

Afunta® Pan/Tilt H.264 720p Wireless IP Camera, CMOS Sensor, Lens: 3.6mm, 10m IR-CUT, 2-way audio, Wifi IEEE 802.11b/g Wireless Connectivity, Black at Amazon £63 inc delivery

If you can live without the pan/tilt then

IP camera HD Network Camera IR Wireless video PTZ wifi at Amazon £52 inc delivery

Banned

I am tempted....

Can anyone recommend an IP cam for my passage? It won't be exposed to direct rain (it'll be attached to the roof of the passage) but it will be exposed to wind/cold/soot (from passing traffic) so needs some amount of weatherproofing. It'll just point to the entrance so pan/tilt isn't necessary but night-vision, two-way audio and an optical zoom would be nice

Any suggestions?

If it's your back passage then you will need something with more significantly better weather-proofing.

Sorry couldn't resist
