There will be shortly be four £5 Waitrose vouchers appearing in The Times and Sunday Times. The first appears on Saturday 16 May - details of the rest to follow.

Minimum spend £50 per voucher used.

Might save you from having to buy the Sun for their Morrisons offer!

Information updated from pages 34 and 36 of Friday's Times. Apologies for the information provided in good faith yesterday from a full page advert on page 30 of Thurday's Times, which read: "Don't miss the first of 4 vouchers in The Times tomorrow". Just shows how little you can trust The Times!

Just a warning not to buy today's (Friday's) paper if you just want the voucher. Despite the promise on page 30 of yesterday's paper that it would appear in today's Times, it isn't there.

I've amended the header accordingly. My apologies for passing on duff information - thanks to The Times. They now say the vouchers start tomorrow.

It's an Ok deal but not a really good one.
Only 10% off and you've got to fork out for the paper

I assume you mean Saturday 16th May?

I buy the paper anyway so a good deal for me-thank you.
Voted hot.

By the time you have worked out their marked up prices considering their rivals, it's not such a good deal.

Thats not the way to look at it If your a typical price oriented shopped then Waitrose isnt really for you. We used to shop there because we liked the quality of the stuff, meat and veg especially is alot better than Sainsbury where we go now. There is also less choice, which sounds bad but it means you buy less crud you don't really need and end up with better quality stuff.

Interestingly we changed back to Sainsbury this year, and since then our grocery spend has actually gone UP :w00t: very strange!

I agree. certainly should not rubbish Waitrose.

I use Waitrose much like M&S. For the little luxuries and for the deals.
Have a look at the website for current deals. (some aren't bad)

I also find that the fruit and veg while more expensive, tastes better and crucially last longer.
Similar with meat and poultry.

But Asda and Tesco still remain my everyday shop

The difference is that Waitrose staff treat their customers in the way they should do. As opposed to the scum that work in Tesco around our way.
It's worth paying the extra to be treated like a customer, rather than an inconvenience

Funny you should say that - it's exactly the same round here too.

The Waitrose people are nice to deal with, but the Tesco people seem to think they're doing you a favour just by being there. The Tesco is a hellhole, and the Waitrose a sanctuary of calm and civilisation.

Agreed. It's queer that people are willing to pay extra to ensure their eggs come from free-range hens, not battery-caged, yet they care nothing about how the workers are treated.

I was waiting in a queue which was 6 long in Waitrose when I joined it and when I reached number 3 in a queue a member of staff went to the person at the end of the queue and said I'm opening checkout 2 if you'd like to go there. When I got to checkout 2 before the person who'd been at the back, I was refused service because I hadn't been invited.
Needless to say Waitrose no longer gets any of my service. After that incident I would put Waitrose at the bottom, their customer service in Buxton is just terrible.- I get my basics from Morrsons/tescos. Fruit/Veg from Aldi. Meat and nice stuff from M & S.

Can these vouchers be used online?
