Mod, move to deals please!

I bought one of these, they are excellent. The only downside is the fan noise.

You'd possibly get away with passive cooling on that 10W CPU.

Great Price well done OP

I just bought one what the hell.

If you're after a complete desktop based on J1900 with Windows 8 COA, there are 3 here for £70:

Great price - but deal has ended.

Does anyone know what the power draw on these units are? I've got a similar brix unit ticking over at about 15w. I want a machine that will be on 24/7 so it needs to have as low a power draw as possible

Nice peace of kit

Hmm £59. I spent ten times this on an intel skull canyon - then again it's not got a celery processor lol. For £59 you can chuck it in the bin if it can't handle more than 3 browser tabs at one. Bargain

Does anyone knows something about them? I put new 8GB memory into it and my SSD drive and when I connect it there's no picture at all. I probably used wrong SSD Drive (new one on its way) but I should be able to get into BIOS even without hard drive shouldn't I? Please help.

what cable are you using ? I found that a DVI to HDMI cable wasn't supported and only managed to get a picture after plugging in a VGA cable.

it has been sorted. it was wrong memory. this pc does not support ECC memory and that's what I have put in. it worked fine after replacing it

I removed the built in fan and installed a passive heatsync onto mine. use it as a silent plex server. Perfect for what I need.

Interesting. Did you follow a guide or are you able to give me a steer on that front, seems like a good idea as the fan is noisy.

Meant to type 'please', where are my manners.

Hello, No guide - I just unplugged and unscrewed the laptop style blower fan. Cleaned up the CPU die then applied new thermal paste and a small heatsink from an old motherboard chipset

http://northamericanshores.com/slowblog/bad_heatsink.jpg this sort of thing

(be careful not to use one that's too big as it'll short out components around the CPU (use non conductive tape on the parts not making contact with CPU die) the weight of the metal and paste kept it in place without movement, so no clasp etc needed to fix it down.

Mine was a little too tall to put the top of the case back on but I wasn't fussed.

Idles around 30degrees with max temps of 65degrees when 100% stress/burn tested so very happy.

actually cools better than that awful blower fan with the top off
