Hot... and smoky!

Holy Smokes!!!!

thats well cheap. But is it any good though? Will it require extensive mods to put it inline with the more reliable and similar smokers (eg Smokey Mountain) and will it last in the elements?

this was 30 quid last week on amazon.

Still is plus postage so works out the same

I can't find it on amazon can you link?

This looks exactly like the one I bought a few years back from Homebase. I used it a few times with good results, but it is very flimsy, very thin steel and the thermostat was wildly inaccurate. It needed quite a lot of care and attention to get temperatures correct IIRC. It's still in the shed somewhere - one of the flimsy legs has buckled and I haven't been bothered to figure out how to fix it.

All in all I would say it's good enough to get decent results but not very good quality, certainly not something you are going to cherish for years and years.

Not even 1 quid cheaper, never mind a few

There are lots of different ones on amazon all different prices. It may mean a couple quid more, will get you a better quailty one. I always check the reviews they are the biggest help not the price!

I normally feed the pigs, but now I can smoke them instead X)

Got one of these. You need to modify the charcoal pan by drilling several air holes – otherwise even with a lot of coal, it is near impossible to keep the temperature high enough. There is a guide somewhere on modifying a similar american unit – they call them 'bullet bbqs'.

so much want
