Fractal Design Define R4 (w/ window) Titanium Case for £64.98 @ Amazon

Found 23rd Mar 2014
Yesterday I posted a deal of the very same case but with the solid panel and sold by eBuyer. Now the windowed version (which usually comes at a £5-10 premium) has now dropped to the same price as the solid one (which was already a good price), and is sold by Amazon!

This is definitely the cheapest windowed r4 I've seen, especially for the titanium one.

Also, since its sold by Amazon now, super savvy shoppers could try using Flubit for a further 6-12% saving.

Note that none of the pictures show the windowed panel but it is evident from both the product code FD-CA-DEF-R4-TI-W as well as the description that this is indeed the windowed version.

EDIT: 27/03 Now back in stock.

•Colour: titanium grey

I found this from PCpartpicker which had this listed under the windowed version. I know its a bit stupid how the images do not show a picture of the side panel but by reading the product description and looking at the product code (which has the -W at the end), this SHOULD be the windowed one.

Don't Amazon tend to lump together reviews of similar items so this may not be definitive proof.

ah cheers, sort of confused me, still heat added though awesome cases

i went for it after, a bargain.

Awesome looking case, heat added!

Won't the window cause the case to be a little noisier than the non window version ? I've been eyeing this up and if I decided to start building this would be the case for me (Different variant) How good are these at actually dampening noise as the background hums really irritate me ?

maybe a little, but depends on fans, but tbh i prefer the looks over a little noise really, and we aint talking aircraft noise levels, very little noise these days tbh

wish the black pearl was same price

To be fair the desktop I use is a good few years old now but the hum becomes annoying and the thought of a window which means the side looses the foam at least on the window area seems to contradict the noise dampening. I also love the simplicity and the fact that the case has no lights as my current system has a stupid blue backlit 3inch by 3inch display on the front that I can't turn the light off of ! Love this case but if I commit to purchase I can see myself having to buy a new PC and I just can't make decisions ! The case (None windowed dropped a good few days ago or even a week + as I've been watching it on my amazon. I am after the white version but at £20+ more it's not worth it)
Still have to say I like the titanium a little more than the black pearl.

Is this now OOS?

What is the maximum GPU length on this tower?

Absolute bargain at this price.

RE Gunner4lifes problem with the light... as far as I know, you can turn the LED off by just unplugging the molex connector (or the 3-4 pin whichever it is)

That's a decent enough length with the two hard drive cages.

Is the second cage easily removed, or does it require a bit of DIY?

2 Tool free thumb screws.........10 seconds

is it bread bin? Too expensive.

I've got the non window version of this case. It is enormous inside. Very well designed inside with two quiet case fans as well. Very good cable management, if you want to keep it looking tidy.

Can't hear the sound of the main PC over the sound of the HP Micro server running next to it.

This case is so beautiful...

Wow, this really looks like something. Too bad I probably can't afford it right now. I've had my Dell system since 2010 and have upgraded the graphics card and the RAM (16GB), and it can play practically all modern games with pretty good settings. I'd like to get or build a new system in the future, but I'm wondering if there's a point now. I'm not the kind of person who salivates over the best settings, especially when it's mostly console ports lately which don't look amazingly better at max settings than medium-high. I'd rather wait until the current gen library is at a level which makes a new system worth it, and cheaper to buy/build. However, this'd be a good purchase for future use...

Hmmmmmmm... to buy or not to buy. Go away, evil voice. oO

One or two screws have to be removed for the second drive cage to pop out - should take a few seconds...

Great support from Fractal too, my PSU filter somehow became warped and after sending them my serial number a new one was with me a few days later

the black peal verision would of been nicer choice for me but this will still look nice... damn you HDUK! I just bought it, but I'll be happy when I get it.
Any good ATX motherboard deals? lol... might as well get one now too... (**** gonna end up buying a whole new rig)

Had a tough time deciding whether to go with case or with this. Ended up going for the latter but now I'm wondering whether I made the right choice lol.

Oh dear, what have you done? Good choice the cooler master but side by side with the fractal, no contest (saw it on display @scan)
The simplicity of the design and my god the fractal cable management, unbelievable.and it`s quiet as well, and the two fans that comes with it excellent (quieter than the noctua NF-A14 PWM bought to complement the two fans that came with the fractal)

Would this case be suitable for a gaming rig?

Can do, but space is tight for water cooling if you was thinking of venturing into that.

Keeps PC quiet with great build quality!

Not really, l`ve got corsair H80 and the mammoth EVGA SuperNOVA Full Modular and still got room to spare, unless you talking about custom built water cooling, that l can`t comment.

Ah yes, sorry - I was meant to say custom water cooling as opposed to sealed units

I can vouch for the customer support. I snapped one of the front fan cover clips (when I forgot how to open the thing). looked on the parts site and they wanted 0.17 euros + 17.99 delivery. spoke to technical support and they sent me a letter about "warranty information", instead of the letter, they sent the part f.o.c!

I will say before you build, make a note of the serial number. mine fully loaded weighs a tonne

These seem to be back up to £82 and change now.

Kicking myself for missing out!

The R4 is more than capable for your build, as mentioned earlier my build consists of the abnormal long evga SuperNOVA and also gtx 770 lightning (with room left for sli) plus h90 AIO, so unless you planning on competition built pc, R4 will suffice.
And the R4 is massive as it, so dread to think the amount of space the R2 will occupy.
