Paid £60 for the black version but a white build would look lovely in this.

To be fair, it was clearly a joke. People make jokes about tech that's perceived to be a bit of a throwback (obviously a Bluray drive isn't exactly VHS).

I've got a Bluray/HD-DVD combi drive in my PC, which is a 2009 build with an HD4890 and Phenom II x4 955! It still just about does everything I need of it, but I'm forced into a new build since W7 security patches have ended and the GPU doesn't have W10 drivers. The Bluray drive which was the new big thing in 2009 is now just an option that many people no longer need.

No, it was a sneer. A joke is funny.
Always by the same kind of people too.
I think this case is great. Shame it hasn't something I, - PERSONALLY - need.
I don't care what others have, need or feel is "So 2019". Thats their business.
What I want, or need for MY PC is also mine. Not some pompous snotty kid's

I'm sorry, you feel this way. Are you alright?
Not bad, but am I the only person in the world left that doesn't want to waste money on a seperate NAS box, why are they all so stingy on hard disk bays.
PhilK has no chill when it comes to cases!

Not many new PC builders have lots of drives anymore. With faster internet being available games are more easily downloaded and deleted as required and people stream media. So lots of space for hard drives are superfluous now

I've got 300 meg internet and I'm still rocking 17Tb of drive space, it's not just games, if I want something I want it, I don't want to wait trying to source it online in an ever changing catalogue of stuff. And if I want to pick up and play a favourite game I want to do it while I have a free hour and not spend 30 minutes downloading, installing and clicking through menu crap.

It's not like people don't store a lot of local files, the home NAS market is big now, but I don't get why case builders just assume because you have a high end PC you will have a NAS. I at least don't want two seperate boxes and for media streaming the PC is still way better(and more power efficient) than any NAS.

You have to admit your needs are quite niche though, I can't imagine that the venn diagram of people with lots of drives and don't use a NAS. This is a smaller mainstream case which they have designed to meet the needs of most pc builders.

Yeah, but that used to mean half a dozen drive bays, and I wouldn't say NAS use is entirely voluntary. It's really hard to get any case with decent space for drives which forces you into the NAS route. You just used to have option, there is totally room in there for more drives depending on what airflow you want to setup. I'm just annoyed that generally user choice is reducing in cases and they are becoming a bit less modular.

But I'm just salty mostly cases aren't as good as they used to be, they are cheaper which is nice, but they aren't really improved they just mix and match features in different combinations depending on the year rather than real innovation and all it means is depending on the year you just won't get the features you want unless you go custom.
