Nice little machine. Had one a few years ago.
Makes a decent espresso with some practice and patience.
Need a decent grinder for best results.

Heat for the colour, matches my lambo! OK, it's a fiesta... A red fiesta too..

We all live in a Yellow Submarine... a Yellow Submarine.

Well it's a good price compared to what it usually sells for, but I can't help thinking the money has mainly gone into the funky design and less on the machine itself. That group/filter holder looks pretty flimsy for instance. Personally I'd try to find an older model Gaggia Classic or Baby which have commercial size filters/groups and are real workhorses which make great coffee, even if they don't look as cool.

Gaggia Classic is a great single boiler machine, good to see it still being recommended. Have had mine 2 years, was tempted to upgrade at one point but ended up fitting a PID temp mod instead.

The X1 was my first espresso machine, boiler failed after 10 months and put refund towards gaggia.

I love my Gaggia Classic. I have one now 6 years and it was bought as a used machine and still working very good :-)

Amazing deal. We have had one just like this for 15 years, several coffees a day and its still going strong. Its built like a tank, solid, proper switches and really heavy. Its a design classic. Do I need a spare I wonder?? Just noticed they have an ESE version for £135. Ours came with groupheads for both ground and ese pods. ESE is all we use now. Good coffee and easy with no mess. Cheaper than other pods. ESE pods are online or in Waitrose
