This is for all those who don't like Nespresso or who think that Dolce Gusto is not good enough!!! This machine is well priced and brilliant for coffee lovers everywhere!!! The machine is stylish and looks unique with a brilliant brand of coffee that it serves up piping hot.

Yes but you are stuck with the iperEspresso capsules - nothing else works on these.

Amazon Warehouse can be a good place to get a deal on a coffee machine, for example

Check this out

which equates to half price. I actually an X1 for £155 from Amazon Warehouse and other than the box being tatty it was brand new, but I think it was a misprice.

£258 is an extortionate amount of money for the X1 and what is wrong with iperEspresso capsules?

£305 is currently the cheapest online price for a new one - I think the RRP is about £500

Price and taste.

The capsules for these work out at around 50p each. That's obscene. I bought a Nespresso machine machine last year as an entry into decent home coffee & I thought the 30p per capsule was expensive. 50p is too much...

Everyone's taste is different (I cannot stand dolce gusto coffee) and everyone's view on price is different (Illy coffee is some of the best coffee, so I see the capsule prices as being ok)

Yes that maybe so, but Illy coffee is more expensive (better quality in my opinion) coffee than Nestle branded coffee. So for some the extra 20p is worth it!!!

Yes but if you spend the "extortionate" extra £150ish on the machine that makes espresso with ground coffee then on the basis of having a cup a day you would find the more expensive machine more cost effective in about 18 months.

You could even use Illy coffee in it if you insisted.

And it would taste better.
Ha - the X1 has just dropped to £250! Honestly mate - spend the X7 back and buy the X1.

Your treating this like a battle (it isn't). I prefer using an easier system which is also easier to live with (X7.1) and so do others.

You're the one who keeps replying to every post from informed people who are trying to explain why this is not a good deal. Given OPs often rightly complain about cold votes with no explanation I'm surprised that you would object to an opinion backed up with logical argument and fact that explains in detail why this is in fact not a good deal.

I am perfectly informed in my argument thanks, I believe that the X1 is not worth the extra hassle and money.

For someone who is trying to claim the moral high ground and saying "its not a battle" you're very determined to get the last word. At least now you've given up arguing about the X1 not being more cost effective. Given I got mine for about the same price as the X7.1 price above I'm happy with the extra "hassle" of rinsing the coffee grounds from the cup filter knowing I'm drinking better tasting coffee and I'd be spending £1 a day more with the X7.1

BTW the X1 I've linked is now £233.50 !

The X1 gets a 3 star rating on Amazon... not good huh (_;)
Why would anyone buy one of these, when you can get the Delonghi EC330S Which? Best Buy, with choice of ground or ese pods for less money? amazon.co.uk/DeL…1-1
