Longines Men's Conquest VHP Black PVD Quartz Watch | 41mm £817 at Francis & Gaye
Posted 27th SepPosted 27th Sep
I like PVD watches and this is a good deal

Nice looking watch. Not really considered Longines before, but tempted for this one.

I have a 1980's PVD watch. It's seen some action but that's part of its charm. Amazingly,.Orfina still refurbish watches but you'll pay near a grand.

It’s true, wouldn’t know where to look to get one refurbed. I imagine it’s a specialist job which would probably out cost a fair few pieces.

Hard to mark. But impossible to fix

Pretty good deal on this I think

You snooze you lose

Can't believe I missed it

dont worry the hud admins are getting for you... ;)

Yes, because a solar movement is basically a quartz movement with a rechargable battery in it. For an automatic watch to be precise you'll need 2 things, 1st the movement has to be well made, 2nd needs registering with a proper device (but still it cannot catch the accuracy of a quartz movement - see Grand Seiko 9F GMT)

Great deal here. Way cheaper than chrono24 options...

It’s being compared to an Omega seamaster in the comment I quoted. A watch that is priced similarly to the Pelagos. I’d save the extra k and get a Pelagos. It’s a miles better watch than the lot.

Great. Can tell the time from space with that!

If you get it, you get it. This arrived this morning, thanks OP

That’s my only gripe with Seiko, I could never bring myself to spend £5k or so on a Seiko when £50 buys you the same branding as such from H Samuel. Quality watches for sure though. I’m still tempted by that VHP Longines!

Seiko more under the radar. Omegas remind me of something the lads down the golf club would wear. I don't golf.

Can’t live in worry, each time their own 😃

Another reason to buy a quite substantially better watch at a lower price. Also I would rather wear this better watch as my full time beater than risk getting robbed for my a rolex.

I'd rather have the Seiko

And lose you a load of money in depreciation, those in the know eh ;)

Was just about to comment but saw the price change on the website as I was looking at it!!! Nice looking piece tho'

Heat. Great value for money. Shame about the date window. I prefer the seastar which has a blue dial and a lovely rubber strap but is £100 dearer. This is a very good daily watch at a great price.

I also looked at the Silicum.. but I couldn’t justify the extra money. (And by that I mean the missus wouldn’t let me ;( )

Very pretty watch, got the tissot gentlemen last month for £70 off. 40mm size but its about £200 more than this but I would say the pr100 is definitely not £200 less in quality.

£505 now!

Price now gone up!

I do like the look of this. I know some don't rate Tissot that highly, but price seems good to me as well. However, when I Google, this price comes up, but when I click on it, or directly via here, it briefly shows £476, but then switches instantly to £505.75, even when going through to checkout.

god Damn don’t remind me of my favourite watch I broke it after a good 8 years

Crazy isn’t it ! I have always wanted to by the New Visodate but again it’s too small. Brands like Tissot need to have a men’s 40 and 42 mm for classic and 42/43 mm for sports watches

This is one beautiful watch. Pity it's out of stock ;(

Got my Hamilton jazzmaster from this shop a few years back, could not recommend more!

Apple watches are disposable tech I.e they’ll last about 5 years and need replacing. A mechanical watch on the lower end but high quality won’t need servicing for 5-10 years and will last a lifetime with maintenance. No circuits, RAM or processors that need periodical upgrading. I get the features of an Apple Watch but it doesn’t compare to a decent time piece. Apple watches are practical but won’t last for very long before needing a replacement. That’s how Apple, Samsung etc make money in the tech sector by leaving you wanting more.

Yes, my bad

Sure Federer is Rolex Man! I have a Tissot T-Lord Chronograph Valjoux 7750 and I love it.

Great price for a tissot. I only buy swiss made watches from the swatch group

You got me here mate. Sure it's my opinion and ain't gonna change it. Maybe because Tissot has around 25yrs more experience in making watches XD . I've seen many tissot and many bulova so far but I rather go for Tissot, because of their quality, precision, design, simplicity.

128 I'm sorry that my comment confused you, when I said 'at this price' i was referring to the subject watch priced at £128 as this is the watch (and price) shared on the deal. Hope that makes it easier for you to understand. Have great day (nerd)

Received it today, very happy with it. Looks and feels awesome. My first automatic watch!

Maybe just me but I prefer simpler model without additional dialer

Price increased to £650!

Really lovely close-up pitcures of this SSA392J1, love it :) I was going to say WatchGecko had it cheaper some time ago, but it was a different version SRPB46J1 (that and WatchGecko go from being allowed then banned again on HUKD, I can't keep up)

It is a question of taste, of course, but to me this watch is simply GORGEOUS!

I have owned one of these, it was the green limited version on bracelet, if I recall I paid £100 used as new, it was worth that money but no way would it be worth over £200 on a rubber strap, so many diver type quartz options at this price point and some on bracelet with sapphire. To me even the solar bit has little draw due to the amount of Seiko Kinetic watches I have had and all have failed with cell problems.

Since we seem to be doing wrist shots tonight

Awesome deal Alas I have enough Seiko divers though I'm still tempted by a mini turtle

Comes in handy washing the dishes (lol)

If it ain't Swiss, give it a miss.

In a few years time not many people will be buying analogue watches as you wont have anyone to pass it down to.

Great price for a Tag on steel bracelet. Swiss made. Sapphire crystal with anti reflective coating. 200m water res. Unidirectional bezel. 41mm dia. 12mm thick.

Before, yes. Now not as much, the sister brand is a good choice though (Tudor). Only reason I wouldn’t recommend Rolex is the fact that they can be a headache to get your hands on a good stainless steel one.

Swiss / German / Japanese yes; Automatic yes; Hamilton - Tissot - Longines - Christopher Ward - Omega - Seiko - Junghans - Sinn - etc quality prices to be had second hand. Keep an eye on Stuhrling - Orient anything but a modern Tag quartz.

even worse... so say 'watch people'

Not only quartz a Tag quartz.

Get an skx.

I believe it has the same 4r36 movement featured in the Turtle, so not too shabby at this price.

Seems expensive for a '5'... Just saying. Not voted either way

Yep I don't think this is meant to be the like for like replacement, rather its filling a gap left by the SKX . Also agree that these are way overpriced for what they are, up to £300 full rrp for a 5 is silly but this is a good price and close to what I'd consider reasonable anyway. The turtle mini at 239 is a tempter and 199 or under I'd be very very tempted.

I like a few watches in the new 5 range, but have to agree with those who comment that the 5 prices are a bit rich. So if I was in the market for such a watch, I would have to go for the better spec and finish Mini Turtle ISO certified, 200m screw down crown on a stainless steel strap at £239. Still hot however based on lowest price. (y) Regards the SKX, the SKX (ISO 200m) and 5s (Non ISO 100m) have always been Dive and Sport watches respectively, so for me, I reckon the SKX is dead ....... until it’s relaunch. ;)

I don't understand how a smart watch fan boy feels the need to troll a luxury watch deal (confused) I don't dig Bell & Ross but I don't dig Rolex either even though I bought the missus an oyster+rose gold lady Datejust a few months ago, she loves it and I got it for £1100 quid below RRP but not for me. Apart from the Batman Rolex have nothing that tickles my fancy, so give me an Omega or a Panerai any day.

I would vote hit if it was a Rolex or PP, it’s discounted so much for a reason - you understand ?

Why the bitterness towards Bell & Ross, or is it just an envious contempt of luxury watches in general?

So did you get one ?

Crazy aye. Who in their right mind would want to save 35% (flirt) (confused)
